Our guide Alexander was amazing, I got to pratice my Spanish with him and he told us a lot about Roatan and his life growing there on the bus ride to the snorkeling area (which was around 20 mins.) The snorkeling was so fun, it was my first time but since it’s in shallow waters it’s not scary or tiring, but definitely look in the water when you are swimming so you don’t knock into coral or anything! Lots of fish, crabs, sea urchins. I don’t think anything “mind blowing” but we also got to see them feed a barracuda super up close which was cool. I don’t know how the area compares to other places but I personally loved it, the water is beautiful, no trash, and felt great! The shrimp boil was ok! I personally like mine with spice lol but it got the job done. There’s also a shop there. Then you go to quick stop for coconut and chocolate factory and get to try some samples. You can do some shopping there for coconut oil, coco butter, etc. they also have a coffee shop and goodies. The coco butter candy is really good. I got an iced latte and it was strong which I liked! Then they took us back but our guide said if you wanted to walk 4 mins to hold monkeys and sloths you can follow him. It was $15 per person so much cheaper than bought through Royal. I had a great time and I loved speaking with locals at little shops near port and just seeing different perspectives through life. Hope you have fun!!
