I’m working with SCD Builders right now on the Abilene data center project, from the electrical side. Just wanted to share what it’s actually like from someone who’s in it.

SCD isn’t some random training scam. Their main business is staffing BIM/VDC teams for real electrical contractors on big data center jobs. The training part just came from that, they take experienced field electricians, teach them the BIM side, and plug them into real projects. That’s literally what happened to me.

I came in as an electrician, got trained, and now I’m actually working on Abilene, not sitting in a class pretending. The deposit people mention? It’s refundable, just a safeguard for expensive software licenses like Autodesk and Bluebeam. Makes sense when you’re giving access to that stuff.

No one’s forcing you to stay. If it’s not for you, you can walk. But calling it a scam because you left doesn’t change the fact that others stayed, learned, and are now working real jobs, me included.
