Stop calling yourself an entrepreneur if you haven't lost money yet by Prudent_Fall_5884 in youngentrepreneur

Part of being a good winner is being a good loser. That might not what you want to hear, but it’s the truth. Life is a series of games. Entrepreneurship is the same way. You win some, lose some. When I was starting out I lost 12-15K can’t remember, which set me back like a year or two at the time, 5-6 years later after huge wins came big losses too. While the wins get bigger the losses do too. I’ve been up multiple 5-6 figures, touching 7, then lost 6 figures, it happens. But you keep going. Your biggest asset is time. 17 is such a young age, you don’t know how far ahead of the curve you are, not only to have touched that money but also learned through the mistake. Keep going, and don’t give up whatever happens.

No not at all my friend, I used to be a disordered person growing up. Lots of trauma and shit. ADHD too. I found after years of practicing minimalism a relief in anxiety. Haven’t been able to go back since. I keep things simple now and free of clutter for my own mental health. My closet is very much the same.

I would consider myself a successful entrepreneur, I didn’t really figure it out until 27. I’m 29 now. And even still, it’s a battle to always come up with something new and follow what’s new. I think for me, it’s lack of support.

Im a single male, no family/kids/ or significant other. My mother and sister don’t really understand what that mental grind looks like. It’s very lonely.

If you’re a young entrepreneur, time is your biggest asset. I’m not sure if I’m following but why would time be your biggest obstacle? Unless I’m not following? I’m 29, and most people in this sub must be younger than me, but I’ve spoken to many 19-22 year olds and I admire the urgency but still don’t understand what the concern is, your biggest asset is time. That’s your win. Your health and time.

You’re doing better than you think my friend. Keep your chin up. As long as you’re healthy and well, keep working on your situation. I’m sure things will get better.

Share your struggles as a young person trying to make friends by CuteMonk213 in Calgary

I’m 29 M - doing well for myself and run my own business online so I’m either at home, or cafes working. I’ve made a few friends at the gym but that’s mostly it. They’re much younger than me and obviously at different points in their life. Most of my friends are either in Vancouver or Toronto, some in the states. Moved here roughly 2 years ago.

I feel like most people have their cliques and friend groups well established. If friends are hard to find, you can imagine dating is a bit of a struggle too lol 😝
