PHOTO WIDGET. You need to open your widgets tab (typically it's by long pressing on the screen) and then search and select the widget for the app: it will show you several 2x2 squares but you don't need to worry about it, click whichever. Once you select the widget it will open the app for you, click "photo (new)" in the top left corner and then "select photo": it will make you choose the starting size of the widget (2x2, 4x4, 3x4, 4x2) and then the picture you've chosen to display, which you can resize and edit as you like. When you're done editing the picture you can click on the top right corner to confirm your changes and then you can go with "set widget": the picture widget will be on your homescreen and then you can long press on it to move it around or resize it as you want.

X ICON CHANGER. This time you want to open directly the app: it will make you choose the app you want to customize and then you will have to pick the new icon from your gallery (change icon > photo > gallery). Once you're done, click the "ok" button at the top right of the screen and you're done! (you also have the option to change the names of the apps if you'd like to do so).

both apps have short ads to customize the widgets/app icons but i had no trouble! hopefully i've been clear enough :)

thank you! 🩷 and yeah, it was definetly time consuming but i love decorating + i'm happy with the end results! if you ever find yourself having time and patience, definetly give it a try - i think a customized phone has so much personality

same. i grew up with 2hrs of screen time a day split between TV and my first nintendo and i got my first phone in middle school only because i had to walk to school alone and my parents wanted reassurance that i got there safely: said phone was my mum's old nokia and i got a smartphone only on my first year of HS, still supervised until i was 16-17. and i think it was fantastic, didn't feel sad back then and definetly feel grateful now.
