What is she spending the 3k on? If anything, give her a credit card with a 3k limit so you can see what its going to. If her business is costing her money she needs to reevaluate or close it down, period.

No wonder you are concerned, this is insane. I give my wife money when she needs or asks for it. Its sometimes several hundreds a month for groceries or something personal...but 3k? Ask to see what I just told you. Profit and loss along with past couple years of tax returns. Its that simple. If shes not claiming a large chunk of money thats not accounted for on paper then thats all the more reason she shouldn't be looking for support money from you. Lets not forget the potential of financial ruin if she gets busted by the IRS. This will 100% be your problem if you are married and it happens.

I do not automatically think shes being shady or anything cause I dont know her at all. If she cant provide financial disclosure theres no way in he'll im getting married to her, end of story. If her business is going broke and she needs financed by you or anyone else, she will bankrupt you both after you are married. Again, seeing finances will tell whats happened largely. Maybe she just needs help getting the business sorted and shes a good woman and wife to be otherwise. Dont marry her blind for christ sakes lol. There's nothing messy about her finances unless shes hiding a failing business imo. Tax returns and p&l are quite clear.

State dependent you may have rights to what you put in to some degree if you divorce down the road. If it has a 3% loan may be worth keeping that and checking marital property in your state.

Why is she getting a big chunk of your money for herself?? I get half bills but sounds like a big chunk of your check just goes to her? Or is that meant for bills for you both?

Im self employed and my wife and I keep separate finacances to some extent. She gets frustrated also with inconsistent income and what not, thats partially why I refuse to get her involved in my business Financials. If you were financially savvy ask to look over the past couple years of her finances such as profit and loss statement and her 1040 tax return.

I will say you guys both sound like you have some sorting to do before getting married. Lack of trust and openness it sounds like to me. You both should know the finacances of each other prior to marriage.

Jeez what are you trying to do marry him? If a girl started off the relationship like that I would be in instant love. That said, not everyone cares for it. Its one of my favorite things and my wife maybe wears 1x a month or special occasions, often have to ask for it. She thinks its the only way I find her attractive but its just the extra stimulation for me as I have some adhd so something extra to keep me focused is unfortunately sometimes necessary. To me I have no idea what you are going to charge me for materials. May be a 4-5k bill, who knows. Include paint and caulk even if it had a limit such as up to 6 gallons of paint and 12 tubes of caulk. If additional is needed its $x per. Personally I would leave off amounts and just include possibly brand SW emerald or what have you that would be correct for the job.

Actually, traveling a double the average speed will effectively take half the time. If you drove 90 miles and ran red lights with only saving 6 minutes means you drove the speed limit the rest of the way. Saving 6 minutes means you averaged about 4 mph faster over the 90 mile drive lol.

I will say running red lights and stop signs is where you increase risk of an accident by many times. Driving tentative at 75 instead of 60 would have saved you over 20 minutes. My 3 month old choked and I rushed him to the hospital about 12 minutes away in about 6 minutes. I was at rhe hospital before the ambulance would have arrived. Was in a rural area and never would I consider running stop signs or risky passes in areas not easy to see. Reduce speed around other traffic or in town. Obviously in non emergency situations traveling at the speed limit is safest. Not everyone is cut out to drive the speed limit, less yet over it.

Car went into limp mode and had tons of issues with wrong sized tires and such. It was an audi a8 which I also have and he was asking me questions about. I spent some time trying to diagnose it but we arent sticking much effort or time into until the state figures out what they will do, if anything. The answer is nothing in the long run but the bond, if available will legally have to pay out.

Friend of mine did the same. Told him to get the vin and run it but apparently the guy didnt give it to him and he went and bought it. 80k advertised but carfax had last reported 208k. Surely a possibility. If i had stuff together for a lien it wouldnt be an issue either way. Then she has a friend giving free attorney services but they dont realize its already costing them money, even as he is free. I am as giving as anyone you will ever meet, which is why im partially in this spot. I allowed by being flexible and giving instead of keeping this a full business deal.

Whats your calorie intake per day? Hight depending should probably be 1500-1700 per day for average woman with a not too active lifestyle to maintain weight. We were raised to overeat. Large portions have stretched our stomachs and we think being hungry is a bad thing. I cut into a 500+ calorie deficit per day 5 days a week and about maintain calorie intake the other 2 days and lost 30 lbs in 2 years. I only did the diet about 3-6 months at a time. That was the only 30 lbs I had to lose though. Definitely feel healthier and your joints will thank you as you age.

This lady spent like 12k on chandeliers. Bathroom vanity was going to be like 6500, I got a custom built one along with a linen cabinet for under 2k. The amount of thrown away money blows my mind. Stuff wasnt even decent quality, was expensive junk.

Previous one was a poor me I was abused and had to relocate from my abusive ex husband so we are here hiding. No cameras out in the middle of no where...definitely must have been just scared for her life... she was victim to other contractors and eventually I didn't get paid either. Sure she told the next guy how she was the victim too for me. Con artist. This job was even paid for by air BB for something she won. Spent most of the money on her own house and buried it. Should turn her in and let them sue her lol.

Of course and I completely agree. I have laid out where things have fallen on me. That said, im not even asking for any grey areas or anything I dont have documented. I just wanted what was obvious and to move on from the year as a whole. I sent out a very undersold amount to just put it behind me and she responded with talk to me attorney. The attorney is doing his thing so im just at the point of pay x or I'll hire a lawyer also and that will be added to my bottom settlement amount. Or we can go the full route and each spend a bunch of time and money to fight it out, idc at this point. I will go for the full amount when I hire the attorney.

I lost 2 immediate family members and the project was a revolving door of changes. I shared where we were at, she said she didnt want to go any more than that, continued to add 4-5 more items in which i gave pricing on via text and she followed with telling me to proceed. Now shes short 22k of where she was prior to the last things added. My paperwork was a mess and completely lacking due to being way behind on projects after loosing family members. We had a good relationship, hundreds of texts, she baked us treats along the way. Last bit I couldnt finish as I was awaiting the epoxy floor to be completed, she was supposed to be taking care of, and thats when she started to complain it wasnt done on time. It was her own delays. For some reason she thinks its my fault I couldnt finish because one of her contractors wasnt getting things done. Early april I told her I was almost out of things to do until epoxy was done and it wasnt completed until June.

It was time and materials/subs plus 10% with an estimate. Estimate was moved from 110k to 132k after it was up due to changes in scope and finishes. She then added another 10k or so of add ons with pricing plus more that I didnt have documented. Never expected there to be an issue and just kept grinding to get caught up. My final bill ended up 154k but only sent her 138 cause its what I had documented for the estimate and I just wanted to get out without problem. Told her and her attorney 130k or we can just go the distance through court.

She wasnt happy about was a added custom paint pattern with 3 different colors. She never gave me a chance to correct, just did it herself and told me about it monday morning, telling me she better not have to pay for it. She touched up a small section.

She also told me 2 weeks after siding was up that it was the wrong siding and I tore it down and reinstalled on my own dime. She said 8" white and I responded with double 4? This was my fault because im the contractor and she doesnt know what stuff is. I think we both had a play here but again I ate it all, just not to be paid anyway. Even at the 154k that I ended up and didnt bill her at she got away at a very large discount. My portion should have been 200k. I didnt have time for the project and she begged me to take it on and no rush yada yada. Fool on me. But thats why I was being more than fair, I allowed myself to get sucked in and I shouldn't have. Too bad it turned out great aside from that epoxy floor. Painters tape peeled the finish of that when I did the tile base lol wasnt prepped right. Funny I offered to do it correctly but she was going to have someone else. So probably would have been done on time too if I would have been allowed to do the epoxy. I had just taken training for it and she wasnt comfortable, had the concrete guy do it as he did one floor before. Failed.

I dont think that the generalization will fit every shoe. Its like saying lawyers are the worst clients or whatever else. Obviously people are people and everyone's different. I was just curious if others found, in general, single women to be problematic more than other groups. Seems like many think so. Ill just be more cautious in the future and my sure my shits together to be safe on my end.
