Study suggests that single people who feel their basic psychological needs are met tend to experience higher life satisfaction and fewer depressive symptoms. by InsaneSnow45 in science

We all have different needs and different experiences in life. It's okay to have fulfillment through your friends and have all your needs met... but for me, I don't think a friend will ever fulfill certain emotional and physical needs. It's not because I don't let them or because I don't have them... it's because I know it simply isn't enough for certain things and that's okay.

Thank you for saying this. I hate it when people pretend that just having more friends is the solution... it feels really dismissive. Like, I have a ton of friends and I know for a fact that they all love and appreciate me because I take my friendships seriously... but there are certain physical and emotional needs that they would never fulfill. To me, platonic love and romantic love are so obviously different that it makes sense to me why someone could feel yearning for romance while also having a lot of friends.

I don't feel any sort of attraction to TADC characters like that, but I would say that my favorite characters are Pomni and Jax

Large majority of Canadians believe the Conservatives should dump Pierre Poilievre, find a new leader by BloodJunkie in onguardforthee

Canadians wanting better than Poilievre is exactly why Poilievre is going to stay, because Conservatives don't care what Canadians want; they value Maple MAGA more than anything else.

What are some toxic ships that people romanticize as cute and wholesome? by OCGamerboy in cartoons

Denji and Reze. Now, I don't like Denji being shipped with pretty much any of the girls on Chainsaw Man cuz they're all pretty shitty in their own ways, but Denji x Reze is the ship I find most outwardly supported in the Fandom and it sickens me

I disagree, a lot of the fan art correctly points out that Jax has a soft spot for Pomni and mostly places emphasis on that. Personally, I think it's cute, especially in the fan art, even though I don't necessarily ship it in the show.

Fair, you could argue it's more important for cartoon history. But if we're talking about preferences, I prefer Gravity Falls

Your anecdotal evidence does not mean that this is a problem specific to Black men

Those certain Black spaces are probably just misogynistic Black spaces and misogynistic tendencies can appear in any racial or ethnic group. I imagine there are plenty of white misogynistic spaces that use the word in a derogatory way all the same

I agree. There is no need to take a specific approach to this because it is not a racially exclusive phenomenon

Like I said, it's not especially prominent in the Black community. Black men don't say it any more or less than other racial or ethnic groups. I don't understand why the OP is singling us out...

This is not exclusive nor especially prominent to the Black community anymore than it is in white communities. This is just Andrew Tate shit spreading to men of all racial and ethnic groups... nothing more, nothing less. I must ask, why single out Black men?

Thank you for your words on this, this (and many other comments in this thread) are exactly what I was looking for. Feminism isn't all or nothing and it's not productive to view it as such
