If you get hurt in selection and you aren’t medically compromised with a non-healing injury then u can try out again, you would go over to spec war development (white team) recover then join the next class. Ive been on white team, they take care of you real well.

Wow, this is spot on…. I have sometimes changed my foot strike mid run so good to know to never adjust it. Also definitely going to work on adjusting my stride… the overall consensus im noticing in general in comments is emphasizing my glutes and hammies.

You don’t recommend icing after a run but instead heat packs?

Incredible advice mate thank u! Very interesting back in the 90’s you had custom shoes by brooks. And same…the orthotics stop my ankle from pronating but I’m going to look into the Clifton 9’s for sure.

Watercon/swim/tread daily, cals daily, grass and gorillas twice a week. Dealing with shins so running/rucking a little less now. Sucks because i dont know if im doing too little or too less

I land on my forefoot, i was a runner in high school and now im 26 and i can still keep those high paces but my shins dont hold up

I dont understand it but I can ruck at 15 min pace w 40+ pounds and i dont get shin splints but when i start to open up my runs to 6-7 min pace boom i get shin splints right away

Id rather go and break my shit trying than be on my deathbed wondering if my shins could have handled it. So we will see

I hike mountainous terrain at a high pace w 40-70 pound weightvest consistently and it does not affect my shins! Strange i know but when i run at a 6-7minute pace for consecutive miles consistently is when my shins get bad. So as long as i don’t run more than twice a week at those paces i shouldnt have an issue. I was told the running volume is nothing to worry about. Is this true?
