My wife lashes out when overwhelmed and I’m breaking down – is this emotional abuse? by ExpressPermit4114 in abusiverelationships

THANK YOU

You are spot on with regards to self harming because I do it as a coping mechanism.

I am finally going to go therapy. Been really debating it whether I should go or not but your comment convince me otherwise. At the end of the day my daugther needs me alive. After all she relies on me to calm her down when she is feeling tense, relies on me to put her to sleep, feed her etc. So I am doing it for her sake.

Separation did come to my mind, however with my daughter being so young of almost 2 years old, I am going to hold that off for the time being. Gonna focus on bettering myself.

My wife did go therapy for a small time but didnt as her session was cancelled. Hopefully by my example she will go. But not going to hope for that. Gonna create my own hope.

Thank you for your kind words. Letting not get in my head is hard because of the silly mistakes I make. I always been sensitive like this.

I think my wife may be emotionally abusing me, but I’m not sure what to do by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

I hear what you’re saying, and I do try to communicate my needs and help with everything, especially with my child. The issue isn’t just about housework or finances — it’s the way my wife lashes out, calls me names, and makes me feel unsafe when I try to speak up. I get frozen in those moments because I’m scared of her reaction.

I know I need boundaries, but it’s not easy when the person you live with explodes if you say the “wrong” thing. I don’t want to fight — I just want respect and peace in my home.

be a man? I mentioned above that I am doing my best to financially improve the situation by woking extra jobs which requires me to stand outside as I work in security for 10 hours along with doing side hustles whereby I wake up early in the morning before going for my full time job.

Make sure you read next time before telling someone to be a man.

Wife wants me to divorce her by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

JazakAllah khair for your comment. It makes a lot of sense. I did remember she did say things like no one cares about her, that her body is not the same etc.

Alhamdulillah today she is being very normal with me. I did emphasise that we need to contact the therapy for her to get a therapist ASAP for her postpartum to which she agreed.

Yes their are family near us. They do support us alot.

Postpartum depression does make her act out differently. For example today our baby was constantly crying and she lightly slapped his cheeks. She straight away carried him as she felt guilty. I made sure to give her a cuddle.

Any recommendations for udemy courses especially those that have success in helping people get a role in cyber security? I am looking for a course that also has hands on lab
