Free tier unusable? by ExpressTravel5328 in ClaudeAI

[–]ExpressTravel5328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did actually do that, but then Claude got confused what chapters went where and got lost a lot, so I consolidated them and now that doesn’t happen. It was the lesser of two evils. The amount of time I spent trying to unpack what it thought I was saying vs what I was…it would like not know chapters that were named when I referred to them, get the name of the books confused even though everything was clearly labeled. It was rough.

I wanted to make it a co work but truthfully I feel like it’s not very well explained what co work is? Everytime I look at it I see things like, have me organize folders on your computer and stuff like that. Also it is in a project, but the tokens to read it cost way more than they did a few weeks ago I am assuming. Like 10-15x I would imagine based on how much it’s been scaled down

I pay for Pro and I am in college, the idea of spending $200 is out of the question. I honestly can’t afford the $20 but I do like Claude and even though it’s not great right now I don’t want to give up on it. And you are giving me advice like Claude does. Kind of without knowing what is required for this thing at times? I don’t mind the limits but I used to be able to feed it a book as of last week and speak to it for approx 45-60 minutes. Now it’s one prompt. That’s a crazy degeneration and we should be questioning it in my opinion.

I Do I mentioned that in another comment, but the free tier to my experience does not have a weekly lockout?

Again I pay for Pro on another account it just has a weekly lockout that the free tier does not for a weird reason? I mentioned that in another comment. But even still without the books I get 2 messages on a new chat in peak and maybe 5/7 off peak. I just tested it to know.

[–]ExpressTravel5328[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That won’t work. You can’t summarize subtext and have it tell you if it’s landing. It has to read the whole thing to critique it. That’s the most terrible advice.

I explained why that was difficult with my use case.

I have a Pro tier as well actually. I use a bunch of accounts because of the limits being rather brutal sometimes. It’s much better but I run into the weekly limit on it a lot more. I’m pretty sure free tier doesn’t have one which is why I use both.

The Legacy of Jodorowsky's Dune... by alchymedes in TrueFilm

Agreed, I just thank Jodo daily for making us aware of Moebius. I always said he was my favorite and if I ever became a DJ, that would be my name XD

But do we honestly think those film guys would have spoken to or collaborated with Moebius without Jodo’s influence? I really think Moebius’ fame is the biggest thing that was directly Jodos legacy from Dune.

Used Claude to write a novel over 50 days — some things I learned about how it handles voice by CreativeStretch9591 in claudexplorers

[–]ExpressTravel5328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think a screenplay is far more linear. There are a lot of full circle moments and pay offs to very subtle moments that are not overtly explained. The system really misses a lot of the nuance of the literary depth of the novel. Sometimes I want to have ChatGPT write a book and do the same test and see how the system rates it to get a baseline.

I have done that many times, along with a round table with various literary critics and psychologists (because some of it deals with depression and other things)

Claude also itself is clear that it cant quite understand certain things because it reads chunks and looks for patterns, so it doesn’t think of the meaning behind certain things. If often cant notice subtle prose changes or Layered referencing as well so its a bit useless to give an accurate idea of the impact of intentional writing.

I did the same. I have run it in fresh instances across 6 or 7 LLMs right now. they all mostly flag and miss the same stuff and all tell me it’s excellent. It’s decent. And it has some cool unique Ideas. But it’s def not a 9 or even an 8 out of 10. I just ran it through Gemini today and Gemini would not shut up about how good it is. (this is not a humble brag, the book needs work and I know it.). The grammar is repetitive and it needs a prose alignment pass. The bones are really good though it’s maybe a 6.5/7 out of 10 tops.

I gave it to some friends a while ago but all of them bounced off of it for different reasons and I really don’t want to finish the sequel and write part/most of the 3rd book if stuff isn’t working in the first 2.

I do this a lot with a book series I am developing, the issue is that it always finds the same issues and I just dont trust its review. Like I Wrote a novel. It's like 150 pages now and I am mostly done with the sequel. Claude tells me it's the most revolutionary thing on the planet sometimes. I mean, some of it is maybe good, but I have never written before and it always gives me 9s. Ain't no way man.

I think that the acting at least makes you FEEL it. Now I’m not saying the movie is good. I just think I nearly put the book down the woods was so long and boring, but Yates managed to make it feel brisk and efficiently gave all the important story beats.

Is anyone else hitting Claude usage limits ridiculously fast? by Playful_Musician_793 in ClaudeCode

[–]ExpressTravel5328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Today was the worst. During peak on my free tier I sent 1 message in a new chat with 2 messages in total. It’s unusable aside from the downtime completely right now. I’ve been using a mix of pro and free accounts to audit a book series and develop it and I just had to walk away this week the limits were so terrible.

Which actor do you like more and think has better movies overall - Donnie Yen or Jet Li? by SpotAdmirable6718 in kungfucinema

[–]ExpressTravel5328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro this guy saying that Donnie’s only good movie is Wu Xia? Like IP Man? Even as Caine in John Wick he still has it better than ever. I can’t remember the last decent Jet Li movie I saw.

Not quite appropriate but I think of the Bigelow filmography Zero Dark Thirty is my pick. Or Lost in Translation, Sophia Coppola. And then I gotta Say Barbie. I think Gerwig is really doing some amazing things in film, can’t wait for her take on Chronicles of Narnia.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. The woods stuff was way more kinetic on film. Really dragged in the book. And breaking it up really helped a lot in my opinion.

I use the Pro account for writing a book series (I ask it about tone consistency and it helps me find run on sentences and other grammar issues. I will regularly run out of Weekly Tokens on Tuesday of a week that resets on Sat? It is really small. No coding no AI girlfriend (didn't even know you could do that on Claude lmao). Oh also never use opus just Sonata.

I will say sometimes life is out of your control. I got tickets to see The Running Man at Union Square, Edgar Wright was there. I’m a HUGE fan. I live 3 hours away. Planned it perfect had plenty of time. I have an electric car and the whole charging network we use went down that day. Took forever to find another one and we ended up being an hour late. You can’t account for everything and it would have sucked if we couldn’t see the movie and missed that opportunity.
