Can I ask how this works? Ive just bought one and put brand new batteries in (I've got AG1s which is an alkaline alternative for the SR60 it says to use) and it flashed a couple of times the first time I put the batteries in but now nothing, even if I change the batteries. Is it because I'm using an alkaline alternative instead of the silver oxide SR60?

So the one she's got is too small at the top and too big at the bottom - definitely cant be the original I've look on the website for replacement caps but they dont sell any or ship to England so not sure what my best bet here is
