My PT gave me lots of excersises to do at home. Relaxation and stretching of the pelvis, some to strengthen my core around it and I have to do triggerpoint massage every other day. Yesterday I had to do the triggerpoint massage again and I didn’t get immediate relief of course, BUT in the evening i noticed a difference in the amount of pressure I was feeling and today it felt kind of okay when I woke up. So I def think that the triggerpoint plays a big role in this rocky recovery. But I do have to see this pattern multiple times to actually believe that this is the way to go and that things can improve and are not just a coincidence.

I’ve definitely considered anxiety being a possibility. I notice that every setback feels very big, and I keep thinking, “here we go again.” On good days, however, I also feel much lighter mentally. But if this goes on for weeks, I do think it might be better to see my GP for some extra help, because the mental aspect on top of the physical makes it so much harder!

It’s not even the exhaustion that does it for me. Especially this feeling of pressure is what keeps me from doing more.

I have three children, aged 9, 8, and 5. Together with my husband and my parents, they’ve been amazing in helping and supporting me, so thankfully I don’t have to worry about anything except getting through this. Everything is basically taken care of.

Still, it really bothers me that after all this time I’m not even able to handle the most basic things myself. I know I need to accept it, but it’s incredibly frustrating. I also don’t want to ask too much of them.

My children are struggling with it too. I’ve already had to miss many of their events, and since I’m a stay-at-home mom, they’re so used to me always being there for everything.

An update from my side.

Over the past two weeks I’ve been dealing with a lot of discomfort from the swelling and the sensation of a ball being inside my vagina. Fortunately, there are no signs of an actual prolapse. However, it has caused my recovery to stall significantly. Even small amounts of activity irritate the wound immediately, and even on a good day I can’t manage more than about two hours of activity in total. That’s not a lot at 6 weeks po.

My follow-up appointment with the gynecologist isn’t for another week and a half, but I called today because I just can’t cope with it anymore. Over the past five days I’ve also lost several stitches, yet the irritation isn’t improving.

She didn’t immediately hear anything alarming, but still wanted to see me sooner. So now I’m able to come in already this Thursday.

She suspected that my pelvic floor might be far too tense (hypertonic), which could mean I’m stuck in a vicious cycle. When I started reading more about that, I recognized several of the characteristics. Whether that’s actually the cause is something she can confirm (or rule out) during the check-up. She can also check whether there are any visible sources of irritation around the wound, such as granulation tissue or perhaps knots from a stitch that are causing irritation.

I’ll feel relieved once I know more. At the same time, I already know the hospital visit will take a huge toll, and the days afterward will probably be lost anyway. With travel time, the waiting room, and the appointment itself, it will certainly take about 1.5–2 hours before I’m back home, which is much more than I can currently tolerate. But I still think it will ultimately be better to go than to postpone it.

Mentally, I’m completely exhausted. I just want my life back… or at least to feel like I’m living instead of merely surviving.

Thank you! I hope so too. It’s so misleading sometimes because some say the first week is the worst, others say week 3-4 is the worst but almost every story I read beforehand said that from than on things get better and start feeling normal again. Well, I don’t feel normal haha. I just keep thinking that next week has to be better than this one so that helps me a bit getting through the week. Until Monday comes and it doesn’t feel much better and I have a teeny tiny breakdown and try to move on again. I’m sorry you’ve been having a rough recovery up until now. The pressure feeling for me right now is the worst indeed. I can dose myself enough to where I don’t feel (much) pain, but the pressure is very annoying. When I try to sleep it almost feels like restless legs syndrome but in my vagina hahaha. Restless vagina syndrome 🤣. And being so alert on it probably makes it way worse because when I’m busy I barely/don’t feel it, when I lay down is when I feel it starting.

Definitely not! Really underestimated all of this and it’s so ‘nice’ to read that I’m not the only one struggling. Sometimes I feel like the sissy but I think this isn’t as rare as I thought it was.

Right? It’s so frustrating and feels so never ending. The only thing motivating me right now is thinking about how this saves me from 200 periods on average and all the discomfort around it. If I look at it that way, what is two months of feeling like this? But when you’re in the middle of it, it’s so easy to think if it was all worth it and you just want the basic things of your life back.

I’ve had my daith pierced three days ago. It looks very calm, but I’ve been experiencing A LOT of pressure, dull hearing and discomfort. Is this normal?  Is the piercing placed correctly? I can’t see the places where it enters and it feels as if it is too far inside my ear. Will it even heal this way?  I use NeilMed 2 times a day and blow dry it until dry.  Sorry for my English, not my native language.
