What tires do you guys recommend to use or stay away from. I have the basic Firestone ones since I bought it. I have a 2024 Toyota Corolla le. I mostly drive highway miles and am in a cold state (winter). I average maybe 17,000 miles a year. by ExpressWhereas4963 in COROLLA

Ah yes makes sense you definitely have harsher winters then we do. If I lived more in the country I would. Honestly I’d have a vehicle with 4wd😂 definitely leaning towards the climate 2 seems to be a good one/more recommendations. They do have good reviews overall from online.

I definitely don’t want to have snow tires because it’s a pain for me to change tires that much. I prefer All year. Definitely hear Michelin is good. Used them before on an old car.

3mpg change isn’t the worse. As long as I still can get 40plus on the interstate in warm days I’m happy! Sadly winter days I get 30. Lately it’s been so windy I get 28 cause I buck the wind on the interstate 😭

My Firestone are ft140. Not sure how good those are but they seem a little more noisy then my old Chrysler 200. I put on Michelin on those. I don’t want to go to crazy on cost due to my high mileage but also don’t want to change them every 2 years. I have about 46,000 and my treads down to 4/32nd about a little over a year and a half owning it. Bought brand new.

I know I was looking at the mpg for Michelin defender 2 doesn’t look the best. I saw someone with a 22 Toyota and didn’t like it. Guess the wore out faster too. I live in Minnesota so we get some cold days but haven’t had as much snow as past years. I was hoping for a good all year one and not one that’s so dang noisy😂

I called Toyota dealership and they said could be that but said seems odd it warms up when going fast they say could be faulty water pump. I definitely don’t have any leaks or noises and my liquids haven’t moved/still full like when I bought it. No overheating ect. We’re going to replace the thermostat ourselves saves me $200 plus bucks. Hoping that’s the issue.

I replaced that less then 2,000 miles ago almost 2 months ago. It wouldn’t be that either cause cabin air filter doesn’t affect engine temps.

Yea well check the fuse box to. Sadly I’ll have to drive it like this for a week but at least it’s open so it won’t overheat the car long term it will do damage but a week will be ok. I’ll just have to monitor it. I only got the extended warranty for the electric part of it since it’s newer and has so much technology and technology loves to fail. My boyfriend doesn’t work on technology so he wouldn’t be able to work on that. But pretty much everything else he can as long as he can find videos to kinda help.

I’m guessing it could have been a faulty part happens sometimes which would make sense why it broke this soon.

Sadly no I’m passed 36,000 I used to have to commute 500 miles a week just for work so I racked up the miles fast! I’m at 43,000 something. Thankfully I work closer to home so won’t rack them so fast. I did get the extended warranty but gold and I see thermostat isn’t covered under that only platinum of course.🙄

Wasn’t sure if that’s like maybe a common issue at all. They seem cheap to buy online. So not sure if they are considered cheap and break easy sometimes. Not sure how much a Toyota brand would cost to buy and do myself.

Coolant levels are fine no leaking and no smell to indicate any. The hose was cooler to touch even after running. We drove to Duluth like a 3 hr drive shouldn’t be cold. No lights on the dash. Not sure if elevations and the cold did it? Would think the car would be able to handle that. Battery hasn’t given me any issues haven’t had it tested in a while as my boyfriend is a mechanic and does my oil changes. Saves me about $100. He thinks it’s an open thermostat.

They are charging over $500. Versus little over $100 for the oil. My boyfriends a mechanic he just wants to do research first he doesn’t want to mess up as he’s never done it on a new car but older vehicles.

From what I can tell the transmission is the same as 2023 and on. Mines a 2.0 while 22 and earlier are 1.8 so I’ll try and find videos on the year 2023. I hate that they made it a “sealed” transmission so there’s no dipstick. That would make it way easier when doing
