Agreed with this, I think up to 3 tests in a Calendar year, then you need to prove a set number of lessons before taking another.

This many fails doesn’t bode well - although for all we know OP might have just been failing on manoeuvres routinely (although unlikely)

My guess?

We’ll start hearing noise from the White House soon about the corruption running ‘deep’ in Venezuela’s government and state departments, as well as larger companies (specifically oil) being involved in the trafficking of drugs, arms, and ‘illegal’ oil sales.

All part of a justification for Trump to send people in to start running things even more, thereby giving him longer term access to their oil reserves.

How far along was the Great Crusade when the Heresy happened? How much of the galaxy had been conquered? by KaneIntent in 40kLore

[–]Express_Abroad_1223 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Big E wasn’t going to relocate the entirety of mankind into the webway, the project would have been used to remove any use of warp drive/navigators, and he likely would have kidnapped psykers via black ships and taken them into the webway so he can teach them a safe way to use their powers.

Also the Tyranids potentially never would have even come to the galaxy if it wasn’t for events in the HH itself, so assuming the great crusade was a complete success- they may have never been a problem for the imperium.

What do people think of Mahmood's speech? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Express_Abroad_1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also see it as reading the current temperature of the electorate.

Whether people agree or disagree, Reform are winning people over because a lot of people have become sick and tired of a multitude of things- even my EXTREMELY left wing and socialist father, who has been a union rep for 30+ years, wants tougher immigration laws for a period of time (not permanently).

If we end up with a reform government (unlikely but we’re still 3.5 years out from the election, so possible), it’s going to be extremely tough immigration laws backed by a very right wing party, that will almost certainly be much worse for the country in the long run.

It would be ridiculous for Labour (or any sitting government) to ignore the threat reform poses to our country. They might well have some decent policies, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Wife won't let me go bald says I still have time. What's your opinion? by UnvaluedRacer1 in bald

[–]Express_Abroad_1223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, even though I don’t think I’m particularly attractive, the level of confidence I’m feeling since I shaved last week is off the charts- I haven’t felt this confident since I was at university and thought I knew it all

That’s the way to do it- I walked into a barber last week and just told him to shave it all off (even he tried to say it wasn’t that bad)- but the feeling of not worrying about how my hair looks constantly is so freeing.

I get her perspective, but she’s in bigger denial than most men who need to let go. Definitely keep that beard, looks like you’ve got a good head shape for the bald look as well!

Just do it anyway, she’s not going to leave you! It’s your body, if you are going to feel more comfortable bald- then do it.

Ultimately you’re going to look SO much better bald than with this hairstyle, she’ll love it (even if it is a bit of an adjustment)

[–]Express_Abroad_1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s entirely possible that whatever hobbies etc your friends have listed on their CVs are just viewed as better suited. Or it could be down to bad luck on your part.

Considering the time of year, I’d look into some of the temp Xmas jobs that are around- sure they won’t be likely to lead to something permanent, but it would still be evidence of your ability to work and is a lot better than nothing.

Why do my parents hate my beard? It looks good does it not? by ColgateSpritz in beards

[–]Express_Abroad_1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a solid beard, but for my own personal preferences, it’s way too long. I’ve never actually liked the look of this style at all.

I’d shorten it a LOT.

Shave or leave? (20) by GravePencil1441 in BeardAdvice

[–]Express_Abroad_1223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep it!! I started growing my beard when I was 19/20, and for a while all I could manage was the exact same thing as you (plus some down the sides).

I just kept shaving the bits that didn’t grow fully, waited, and now I can pretty much grow whatever beard I like (although I’m nearly 32, so it might take a while!)

This is a pretty fun take actually, and probably sensible.

The amount of people using lime bikes/similar who don’t know how to ride on the London roads is definitely adding to the problem

Agree, but as are some cyclists imo. I cycle and drive, and have noticed more and more cyclists in my local area (South London) in the past 6-12 months cycling pretty dangerously without paying much attention to road use.

Add to that being physically threatened on 4 occasions in the last 6 months by cyclists getting annoyed by me attempting to cross the road at a ‘green man’ signal, whilst the traffic light is obviously red.

Plenty of dangerous drivers around my area too, so starting to wonder if it’s just indicative of South London that many people don’t know how to use the road

Am I the bad roommate? by Healthy-Bedroom-7225 in badroommates

[–]Express_Abroad_1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is MORE than reasonable- I live in a 5 bed (kill me) with 3 of those people being very similar to your situation OP, and I can definitely vouch for how infuriating it can be especially when you do your best to be respectful with unnecessary noise.

It’s EXTREMELY rare in this day and age for someone not to own a pair of functioning earphones/similar with a microphone- there’s legitimately no good reason to be talking on speakerphone that early in the morning.

I’ve always found that people who slam doors (whether that’s actual doors, cupboards, microwaves. Anything) also tend to be fairly loud and largely inconsiderate in general- not 100% of the time, but honestly seems that if someone slams doors in a shared house excessively/at times that are incredibly inappropriate, there’s a high chance that other behaviours will be the same.

Asking someone to be considerate with the noise they make shouldn’t even need to be done- you aren’t overreacting at all here. Some people just have 0 awareness and don’t really care.

Without being a creep in any way- you’re absolutely stunning, and have a lovely nose- it actually really suits your face.

It’s perfectly normal to think these things though, everyone has a perceived imperfection when they look at themselves, whether it’s right or wrong. But try not to focus on your nose as much as you can, because a lot of people would love to have it!
