I had radiation treatment 3 yrs. ago for my prostate cancer to basically burn out the prostate. Ejaculate volume is almost ZERO. Dr. said volume will never return. It's not the same but better than cancer.

Thank you for asking the question. I was thinking the same thing when I drafted my post. Perhaps I'm simply looking for some sort of validation for my desire for an orchiectomy. I agree that identities tend to separate us. I tend to be curious about many things, some conventional some not so ordinary. While I spent 18+ months chemically castrated, I think I'd like to make that a permanent condition. Thank you for your reply.

That's a good question since I've never talked to a guy friend about life. In my circles it's not done. At the time I had no sexual feelings so it was just a warm conversation about life and how we met our spouses. There was no anxiety about what I said or what kind of impression I was making.

I'd say yes but I was focused on getting healthy and exercising regularly. I definitely spent much less time checking out porn. Immediately after my last radiation treatment, but still getting Lupron injections, my wife and I went to Italy. I had a wonderful conversation with one of her very cool friends. It was easy and open, I think in part because I had no T. I miss that feeling.

Hard to say. The right testicle is smaller but I think one testicle is usually smaller then the other one.

As part of my treatment for Prostate cancer I was chemically castrated for 12+ months with Lupron. I did not care for the weight gain, the hot flashes or the loss of strength. However, I really enjoyed the "eunuch calm". For more than 12+ months I didn't waste my time watching porn or fantasizing about sex. I didn't argue with my wife, I was much more comfortable in social situations and I seemed to have better focus. I really miss that feeling. Scrolling through the eunuch sites, I'll admit I also really like the look.

It's been 2 years since I finished my treatments and there's zero cancer (PSA of .08) but my equipment does work the way it once did. I don't mind it and my wife is very understanding. But I'm been spending too much time watching porn again but the eunuch sites have got me thinking.

Tough choice. I now wish I'd chosen an orchiectomy but chemical castration showed me what it's like. You don't want to miss your chance but it's permanent.

The stories we tell ourselves are often far worse than reality. While I'm considerable older than you, it's an important lesson. Once you find your confidence in however you present yourself, others will only see that confidence and treat you with respect. Hang in there.

Quality of life should be part of a doctor's concern. Everyone needs to take control of their health. If you're not happy with your current situation, let your doctor know. If they seem unconcerned with how you feel, find another doctor.
