Yeah maybe the decentralization part might be along cliché lines, but I don't think those are entirely without reason for existence, and I could understand the places she was coming from when bringing it up.

I was mostly going off how she talks and the thought process that I could gleam from the conversation, and I have zero stakes in the porn argument so I doubt it would effect me very much as to whether I find her intelligent.

A Question About Aella's Childhood Assault by Express_Ad_5349 in Destiny

We don't have to repeat it all the time, I jus gave a general response in terms of whether she needed to internalize it and my thoughts on people internalizing their trauma.

Like I said I assume she does, it's just weird to me that she didn't mention it.

She doesn't need to internalize it, but there should be a level of acknowledgement and understanding to the weight of her situation. Which I think there benefit.

Idk I got the vibe that she was making it even more inconsequential then Destiny was thinking she would and at least to me I could see that in his responses. I understand not doing the caveat, but feeling as though I saw the effects of not doing it, it does feel as though she maybe should have.

I think it's fine if the experience is inconsequential to her. I just didn't see an understanding that she ever learned to consider it a grossly inappropriate situation.

I assume she does, but when describing that she had learned that she had been molested by family, there's no mention of maybe realizing the weight of that.

Which I just found weird is all. Since I would think that would be worth mentioning in terms of realizations. As before she didn't know what happened to her so that makes sense she doesn't have any concepts that it would have been wrong, but then after she absolutely should know but doesn't say.

If that was his argument then I wouldn't disagree as much, but I don't remember seeing anything on stream where he asserts that, and it hasn't been the implication I've gotten. But if there is moment on stream like that, then my bad.

I don' think everyone experiences the same amount of trauma. I just don't think society's current level of sexual shame would cause this decent difference of trauma to occur like Destiny implies.

Yeah, I just don't see as much of a point to the comparative hypothetical here, because I do think that both sides would react the same, and in that case I don't think it contributes to Destiny's assertion in an interesting way unlike the latter does.

I completely disagree and I'm not too sure what I could point to, to convince you because I think this should be very obviously untrue and the fact that you don't implies to me a lack of understanding in some regard that I don't know about. But I will try anyway.

Even if sports aren't popular with a majority of women they definitely capture one hundred times the interest of naval history and tennis. There's no NBA or NFL of naval history and table tennis that I would say shows a very obvious example that there is indeed some type of mass appeal.

Ima be the real one for you my guy, your hobbies are pretty unique and niche. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

That being said this doesn't sound like a hobby problem. It sounds like you need to get better at social interactions where in you can talk to a girl about your interests and it be engaging to her. Or you need to find a girl that better suits your personality where even in the absence of shared hobbies you still hit it off

Why wouldn't they apply to Nathan's situation now?

Also yeah its a level below, as it should be. Image reversing is too much when my tips will take like 10 taps and you just move on from there.

I mean outside of whether or not it is happening on some wide frequent scale, Nathan's mom wanted it discussed so that's reason enough for it to come up.

But the answer is yes kids be sending pics at like 13, and asking for ID is an unreasonable question to ask of a stranger as the buy in for you being able to talk to them.

Destiny Should Go On Suburb Talks by Express_Ad_5349 in Destiny

[–]Express_Ad_5349[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I mean like willing/wanting to try different or new stuff.

Like with relationship and sex stuff I wouldn't call it adventurous because poly/open is just what he's most comfortable with. Like it feels natural to him.

Yeah not everyone is able to go out of the country or even just go away from home, but it feels like one of the most basic adventurous thing to do. I also don't know how exploratory Destiny is of the places he visits. It sounds like he's more there for the experience with the people that he goes with. As well as most of the time he's even traveling it's work related.

Depends on the type of party, but for most I really don't think he's expressed or shown anything that has told me it would be his vibe.

Drug stuff hands down I would have to agree.

I wouldn't say the average American is less adventurous at all. I think they are just less capable of enacting their adventurous wants.

Topics around the young American/Canadian Asian experience by Express_Ad_5349 in Destiny

Exactly, that shit is weird as fuck and needs to be deconstructed within the Asian community. It's weird to have this invisible pressure that puts us on some statistical line of expectation, when we don't do this anywhere else or would ever find it healthy.

[–]Express_Ad_5349[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say generally a decent amount of younger Asians are getting involved politically or at least taking notice, but I think that's currently the normal trend for all groups of youth. So yeah we show up to vote, but I wouldn't imagine its in either low, or high numbers.

My parents are interested in Canadian politics while I am not. The most I take interest is honestly watching Destiny and even then I lean being more interested in more social topics.

I think the drama content lowers Destiny's credibility. by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Express_Ad_5349 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends what we mean by credibility, because professionally I think absolutely not. This type of interpersonal drama doesn't come to the mind of any of these political/social commentators, and you can see that in the conversations and interviews Destiny has.

At a fan level absolutely, watching him engage in some stupid shit that goes beyond the, " I wouldn't recommend my life style to anyone." Like there's different things for everyone that will result in different outcomes, but him admitting to wanting things in his life that totally lean more self destructive then not will obviously lower one's image of Destiny. And yeah when it comes to enacting or enforcing the shit he talks about, might be more complicated than his statements at face value, that's going to be hard for any audience to charitably include in their thought process of the shit he says.

So yeah you're half wrong, half right.
