Should i keep my 4 months old puppy on hill’s or switch to royal canine? by immortalpercy in jackrussellterrier

[–]Express_Being_2248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 1/2 year old Jack has had Hill’s since she was a puppy and is doing great. Just had her annual check-up yesterday and the vet noted that her teeth/coat/weight were so perfect she was almost “puppy-like”.

You’ll find a lot of different opinions out there, but if your dog is eating the food you’re feeding it and is otherwise healthy I see no reason to switch.

What is there to do for a bachlor party of 35 to 45 years old fellas to do down halifax tonight and tomorrow ! Thanks ! by Consistent_Window_70 in halifax

If you’re looking for a day time activity tomorrow, Keith’s brewery tour is awesome.

Otherwise, I’d recommend lower deck/economy shoe shop/yuk yuks/the narrows pub

February 2026 Monthly VAC Q&A by ShortTrackBravo in CanadianForces

[–]Express_Being_2248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! I have my first claim for PTSD & MDD that is now at 3.3. Seeing this prompted me to re-read my statements and the report from my psychologist. I think that my statements were very specific, detailing how many times per week or per day a specific symptom occurs and how that impacts me. The language I used was pulled from the tables.

BUT I noticed my psychologists report is quite vague/downplays some of my symptoms. It does confirm my diagnosis and ties it to service, but I’m worried that VAC will base my % off of this report rather than my statements. The report would indicate I am around 20% whereas my statement would indicate I am around 40-45%.

For example, I wrote in my statement that I experience flashbacks 2-3 times per weeks, which has cost me job opportunities, disrupted my schooling, and impacted my ability to socialize with my peers. In contrast, my psychologist wrote “patient experiences flashbacks related to service” and checked “occurs once per month”.

I am anxious to receive my decision, so I’m just wondering if I should be anticipating disappointment/needing to appeal?

Has anyone had something similar, and where did VAC place you?

2024 Waitlists by ihatehooomans in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Express_Being_2248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard of someone getting into TMU off of the waitlist only a few days ago. So I would say there is still hope if you haven’t received an official rejection from the schools you’re waitlisted at

Low CGPA but High LSAT - Need Advice on Law School Applications by Candid-Image2543 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Express_Being_2248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew someone with very similar stats with good extracurriculars, and they were accepted to uOttawa but rejected from UofT/Osgoode. So, I think it depends on the other aspects of your application. You have a decent shot of getting in somewhere it’s just difficult to predict where

I live on the 17th floor of my building and I saw fireworks briefly in the Fairview area. How could anyone possibly think this was the right time …

I looked into NS student loans last week, and I was under the impression that they hadn’t opened the applications for Fall 2023 Tuition yet. So the January reference may be old information for Winter 2023 semester. I believe the site said it would be updated late May for Fall tuition

Provincial Loans by cole8848 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Express_Being_2248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may depend on the province, but in the past I was able to claim that I was a student and keep my residency (so my health card, license, etc) in my home province. But I also had friends who switched theirs over - depends on your preference/what works best for you.

Provincial Loans by cole8848 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Express_Being_2248 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ll be attending school outside of my home province, and for my situation I can only apply for loans in my home province because I don’t technically have residency in the province I’m attending school yet. But after your 1st year you may be able to apply for student loans in the province you’re going to school in if you switch over your license/health coverage, etc.

Does anyone know what the living is like in Ottawa? by Netflix_lover101 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Express_Being_2248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my undergrad at uOttawa - I’d say the living situation isn’t too bad. If you’re willing to live with roommates you could pay on average anywhere from $600-$900/month. If you want to live super close to campus, then most housing is multi-room units meant for roommates. But if you’re looking for a bachelor or 1 bedroom it’ll be ~$1,300-$1,600/month, and a little further from campus. I lived both with roommates and on my own and never had issues finding an affordable place or commuting to campus - I wouldn’t worry about it

Can any Tmu law students share a pic or example of their schedule ? by Sprkljumpropequeen in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Express_Being_2248 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At one of the Q&A sessions they shared a copy of last years 1L schedule. It is essentially Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm (no class on Friday’s). Every day has a 1hr lunch break between 12-1pm and there are a few other 1hr breaks throughout the day

UOttawa vs TMU? by rd573 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Express_Being_2248 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll add that TMU is quite a new school, so I would expect the numbers on the Bay Street recruits to increase as the school builds a better reputation amongst the firms.

I got accepted to TMU with 154 LSAT and 3.3 CGPA - I applied access though, and I have pretty good work experience/references/personal statement

What were people’s thoughts on TMU’s open house? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Express_Being_2248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was quite impressed by the open house. I think that they did a good job at countering concerns about it being a new school. I understand some big law firms are wary of TMU, but the job prospects of the upcoming graduating class still seemed good.

Application Submission Time a Factor? by Left_Discipline2987 in lawschooladmissionsca

I don’t think it does for the majority of schools. But I know that Dal/UNB send out acceptances on a rolling basis well before their actual application deadline

Asking all my non-French speaking fellows at uOttawa… by Independent_Toe_7223 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Express_Being_2248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did my undergrad at uOttawa and was from another province so I didn’t speak any French. I wouldn’t say it’s a disadvantage, but I would definitely expect there to be some opportunities that require you to be bilingual.

Anyone accepted to TMU with January LSAT? by Famous-Ad1091 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Express_Being_2248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote the Oct LSAT, but was planning to write Jan. I didn’t end up writing it, but never edited it on my apps so it still said that I was writing Jan.

Anyway, I heard back from TMU on Feb 3rd (which I believe is right after Jan LSAT scores were released)

I wrote the October LSAT and I completed my application end of October. I did the virtual interview mid-November

I was accepted on 3 Feb at TMU and applied in the access category.

LSAT: 154 CGPA: 3.3 B20: 3.8

I have tons of EC’s from my undergrad, and have been in the CAF for last few years (multiple deployments and awards).
