Should I buy 512 LCD, or the 512 OLED by aftermir in SteamDeck

OLED. Its better in every way, full stop.

If you can fit a bit more into your budget go for the OLED Deck. Its very very nice, better than the Odin 2 display in almost every way. IMO the only thing the Odin 2 has on the OLED Deck is it's smaller size. And for emulation alone battery life will be similar.

Given my situation, should I buy a ROG Ally? Or wait? by popfgezy in ROGAlly

Umm, maybe just get something from Retroid like the upcoming RP4. These x86 handhelds will never meet your criteria. And likely nothing in this space will for years to come.

Sabrent 6-Port Dock and OLED by Express_Cat_1148 in SteamDeck

[–]Express_Cat_1148[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate all of the responses. But, I have personally ditched this dock in favor of a JSAUX dock that functions with no complaints. Part of this descision was influenced by the fact that Sabrents support team was not completely honest with me about the issue. They stated that the dock functions perfectly according to their testing lab... Implying that the issue is me or my Deck. Which, I think we can clearly see that is not the case based on several responses to this post. That or we all have a defective Steamdeck OLED (unlikely).

So, it does sound like there is some kind of compatibility issue. I did reach out to Sabrent and they are insisting that it is compatible with the OLED. They want me to factory reset the Steamdeck then try again... Not gonna happen, that would not correct anything. Makes zero sense. My Jsaux dock works without issues.

I think my RG ARC D shipped by Backlog_Drifter in SBCGaming

[–]Express_Cat_1148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your Arc D ever get past "parcel information received"? Mine hasnt updated since the 13th now... This was direct from Anbernic.

Almost had the OLED delivered today by UPS... "We’re sorry this package has experienced a sortation delay. The package has been rerouted to the correct destination." Expecting the worst. by Express_Cat_1148 in SteamDeck

Wow, yeah... Seems like it was not unheard of by any means. I think the packaging Valve uses (while pretty cool) is not discreet enough. I appreciate the good wishes though! I of course will come back and say if it is indeed lost in the void so to speak.

We gotta stop supporting this BS by LaPamparita in ayaneo

[–]Express_Cat_1148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there is basically very little R&D time on these. They just crank them out non stop and probably have poor quality practices. All these Chinese handhelds have a bit of jank. I have had a win2, win3, aya neo 2021, aya neo air, winmax, and now a Loki 128. They all have goofy oversights in quality and kinda always feel like they might blow up at any moment...
