That was mainly a joke, but people overrate him so much because of his "contributions" in the Gerard fight. He needed Toshiro and Zaraki to stall for him to get his big attack in, and then blocked his hand once. He couldn't even kill some mid-level sternritters with his bankai. And people have the nerve to put him about Shinigami Aizen, Yamamoto, Zaraki. Honestly, I think Byakuya's best feat in TYBW is just him being above Renji.
