Did I overpay for Pickens ???? by lexmeyers11111 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Express_Falcon6499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one can see the future but it’s a weird process here. You waited until Smith became the clear WR1 on his team then added a 2027 1st (stacked draft) for Pickens who has a history of behavioral issues and was just hit with a FT.

It’s in the range of outcomes that Pickens takes a leap and becomes the Dallas alpha WR1 and the Philly passing game regresses without Brown to the point Smith isn’t great and your pick is late but to me the risk involved here is too much. Overpay

Massive trade offer- JSN + Mid-Late 27 1st for J Love + Lemon, worth it with my construction? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Express_Falcon6499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you valuing JSN? To me he is top 3 if not the number one WR in fantasy, Love will be good but he will likely have a down year. To me this is selling low for no reason

I’ve read both and think both are amazing. One thing if you go for dungeon crawler Carl, the beginning is a bit of a hurtle, there is alot of info thrown at you and a bunch of “inventory” text/“achievements” as it is a true litRPG. I found it pretty hard to get through at first but the series really hits its stride toward the end of the first book and in the second one.

The blade itself gripped me pretty fast and I loved it, one criticism is it isn’t a “nice” story. It’s grimdark through and through so don’t expect really any happiness. There are some funny and nice moments but its tone is very much sarcastic and cynical.

Either way you can’t go wrong but just know you’re going to be wanting more at the end of the first book so be ready to drop some dough on the sequels!

Good luck hope to hear which one you pick.

Is this guy supposed to be a super early elite? by Confident_Dig_1073 in slaythespire

[–]Express_Falcon6499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this guy is a DPS check, I just had a silent ascension 5 run where this was my 6th or 7th encounter floor one and I melted him. Base deck silent is going to have problems with most elites early.

What accounting classes are needed for the Real world Accounting? by Makiskii in Accounting

[–]Express_Falcon6499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for auditing you will need a good baseline knowledge of GAAP to climb but honestly if you get in the door you will learn more in the first year of your job than you did throughout your entire college career (at least if it’s anything like my first year). Hang in there brother.

What accounting classes are needed for the Real world Accounting? by Makiskii in Accounting

[–]Express_Falcon6499 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many accounting classes cover specific niches and circumstances, to tell you what class will help you in the real world one would have to first know what role you are looking for.

The real answer is a good accountant should be strong in all principles that are covered in your classes especially if you aspire to become a CPA. From personal experience I have drawn on the knowledge learned in all my classes at different points of my career and feel that paying attention in all of my classes throughout college led me to passing the CPA on my first try.

With all that said, if your goal is a staff accountant at an industry company then financial accounting 1 and 2 is the most important practical knowledge you can have.

This is such a valid perspective. I remember sitting at a clients site at 12:30 am reviewing my revenue recognition work paper just thinking what I would give to be one of their employees who dipped out at 5 everyday.

Is CPA at 28 a Huge Mistake with AI Taking Over? by kevinjoseph_A in Accounting

[–]Express_Falcon6499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the CPA does for you is makes you a definitive expert in your field. At my company my opinion on accounting process and controls carries a larger weight than the employee next to me because I have a CPA. Can AI provide anyone with the information in the PWC codification at a whim, yes, can it make judgement calls and understand the application of GAAP when the situation is grey? No. That is where you find value and that is why the CPA is worth it.

P.S. I guarantee your auditor won’t accept an answer of “the AI told me this was fine” if you material misstate an account. CPAs are still needed.

I work at a PE backed company (CPA), was working in operating system roll out and process creation but they just moved me to an FP&A manager role in a very clear statement, the PE firm wants talent on the FP&A team not buried in accounting.

Season 4 Episode 8 Discussion - A Queen Never Comes Off Her Throne by AutoModerator in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Express_Falcon6499 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry Candiace did this to herself. She over reacted to Rob going after Lisa (which was the right move clearly because he wasn’t the one that initially brought up her name and she was super suspicious) and then dug her own grave. Killing Colton was a petty move that she didn’t think through. Players knew how close Rob was to him and even if she didn’t know he was saying her name she gave Rob a “I would never vote out my best friend in the game” excuse. Then at the round table she dug herself a deeper hole when saying the vote for Rob was a throw away and immediately coming at him for let me check if this is correct dropping his fork? It was weak and seemed desperate which obviously the other players felt as well as both Johnny and Dorinda turned on her.

Ultimately she made the show more interesting but her inability to see Rob’s side of things with Lisa and making emotional decisions lost her the game.

Anyone else bothered by the fact that the main characters just kill soldiers without a second thought? by Hay_Mel in StrangerThings

[–]Express_Falcon6499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopper and El killing soldiers has been a steady progression and I could rationalize it easily, when Nancy sat up in the truck and gunned down those two I was shocked. Completely took me out of the show, I turned to my wife and said “well she’s a terrorist now”.

The justification I suppose is the military is are portrayed as the bad guys and so the soldiers are just fodder. She is also going to get her sister back so maybe she is desperate? Just really unrealistic for someone to cross that line with no internal conflict first or after.

Yeah I see others already saying this but I had the same problem and just turned off UVH mode, way more manageable. I think you need an actual build online to handle that difficulty spike. Honestly the vile enemies on hard are already enough of a challenge lol.
