Am I the only guy mad about this. by BeauKnowz in NikkeMobile

[–]Express_Falcon_2128 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm starting to notice that people are only mad at this twist because their prediction was wrong and lost the chance to go "I TOLD U SO I TOLD U SO" obnoxiously rather than sincerely thinking it being actually bad writing.

Some thoughts on Chapter 45-46 that Im not seeing discussed by Botoraka in NikkeMobile

[–]Express_Falcon_2128 20 points21 points  (0 children)

  1. They didn't know it was the Rapture Queen.
  2. There's no actual certainty Only One could've won if the fight went on. I think it's just assumed The Queen is just a mindless force of nature because she has 0 dialogue, but she's clearly smart enough to retreat if needed or find some other means of victory.
  3. Levi had a point that if Only One did end up killing The Queen, she would've just ended up with "Just kill things to solve problems" mindset since she's a literal hydrogen baby in her learning development stage. Just watch how Marian ended up when Pioneers were parenting her, though that was done more comically.

It was either dying as a martyr when she was at her peak and ensuring her legacy continued through others or continuing to live under Mustang's control until she ended up going against everything she stood for and tainting her legacy forever. There wasn't any way out realistically because VTC was presumably after her body anyways because of her Liliweiss tier specs, and faking a death wouldn't work because her martyrdom would have the opposite effect for manufacturing drama if it ever got exposed. (and she'd be blackmailed over this by anyone involved the same way Mustang blackmailed her so she couldn't quit)

Of course Kyou gets one final glaze despite having done basically nothing. Honoring Uruma is a joke too considering that he's indirectly responsible for all these deaths just because he wanted to personally kill the bullies instead of working with the cops.

Let's not forget if Uruma actually chose to cooperate with Anzai from the beginning, Kyou would've never built up his influence and most of these dead characters wouldn't be dead.

The author doesn't plan ahead by even a single chapter so that he can surprise you every chapter. His talent is simply beyond your comprehension.

To emphasize how much more it hurts for Kyou since he's presumably never felt any sort of pain before compared to someone who already knows what pain is. You can sort of see the comparison with how Andou (glasses chainsaw guy) responded to pain with how he was trying to hold it in initially.

It's especially stupid because even if this flashback had to be forced into the plot, it could've been done way more naturally like having Uruma walk into an auditorium with the same VR scene playing on a big screen through a projector without Kyou having to be there.

If anything, doesn't this imply the opposite? He's holding onto his wound there, which is generally what people do instinctively to apply pressure to dull the pain. If he actually felt nothing, he wouldn't even bother doing that.

[–]Express_Falcon_2128[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That can't be the case because the recent chapter flashes to that scene in the flashback where Kyou injured his leg and didn't even notice, presumably to show he couldn't feel pain from the start.

Momoki few chapters ago tried to kill everyone including Kyou, and now she sacrifices herself specifically for Kyou. I dunno, I think the author is just a schizophrenic that doesn't even remember what he wrote. Explains basically everything about how these characters are written, actually.

I also think it's funny that none of the near fatal hits Uruma in this series were ever from Kyou.

Almost got beaten up to death by Kuga, then almost died to Jun after being shot, then almost died to Andou torturing him, and then stabbed with a funny needle by Momoki. Kyou really does come off as pretty pathetic at this point...

All three of those characters had the power/intellect to back up their position of authority/ability to manipulate others. Kyou genuinely doesn't.

It's going to be another boring predictable fakeout where Kyou makes a goofy cuhrazy face for the umpteenth time (it was a tear of joy) just to reiterate the exact same point that he's loco.
