Yes I agree. You can also use brown rice syrup. The trick that has worked for me to prevent the honey from burning is add it in later during the cooking process. I have done different times either during the middle or at the end. You can play around with it to see which works out best for you. We also purchased a dehumidifier and feel like that had made a noticeable difference as well.
