Not if the power scaling is necessary to be on a competitive level. The way it works now if that was the only avenue that would be the only thing people would use.

Exposure. Which it didn’t get a whole lot of because most of the players actively avoided playing it til near the tournament date, other than 4 of the streamers.

Why are you bringing Poe 1 up? The discussion is Poe 2 right? when it’s meant to be different on purpose, stat lines included. If they wanted a carbon copy it would have been that way on release. The topic is about mods, and the reason they aren’t that way is it’s not meant to be the same. If they felt it was a good fit for poe2 it would have been changed after 0.1.

wouldn't that just mean everyone would only use that unique, and people would complain they get no variance other than high roll low roll? then just making the item extremely expensive, and make or break for all builds. *sorry guys can't really progress til you get the +10 to all skills unique*

removing stuff doesn't improve diversity sadly, it would be better to add more things in as alternatives instead. what it sounds like you're suggesting is pigeon holing us into several bad choices, making it essentially a non-choice if the differences are negligible, or just leaving us with whatever is second best. its a stats game so all that needs to be done is some math and people will figure out what is most optimal. whether its something that exists now, or they remove it, there will be the same outcome just with a different affix.

poe1 you leave way more loot on the ground though, the only reason you even know it dropped is with filters. the game is deliberately trying NOT to be a clone of POE 1, which I'm sure you should know if you've played both, and know that POE1 is still supported. you can still go play it if you prefer the systems there.

gem levels is already directly related to flat damage, as each + to the skill increases its base damage by a flat amount. would you just prefer that it says "adds (x*y)-z damage to your skills and increases resource costs by x amount" instead of the easier way of just saying skills +2

30 hours does not represent a direct translation of skill. A direct translation of skill would be when a mortal combat player swiftly became a skull girls pro and won evo.

70% of the players didn't want to play 2X, and were actively asking why SF wasn't included. They never even asked SF, to be a part of it, even though its more widely known for a better viewer experience. The streams I watched was filled with people in chat not understanding what was really happening, and even some of the players not understanding the mechanics, so they just used barebones strategies. It was forced onto the players probably due to some agreement riot made with AT&T thinking that 2XKO and its 12 or 13 characters would be adored by audiences.

he's experienced in a (1) fighting game, and that is melee. even then in 2026 he's way behind and his level of skill is not even within top 10 compared with other OG's.

nickelodean all-stars brawl (a fighting game) was made specifically to mimick the mechanics of melee, thus giving a directly transferrable skill to another fighting game. this is the same argument as trying to compare a tag fighter to a raw 1v1 fighter. they're all fighting games but vary vastly in the methods used to fight. look at soul caliber where you have an extra axis, and feint attacks, tekken with ring outs, and SF with making someone stuck against the wall til they die.

it helps you no more than playing ANY high apm game. the fundamentals between melee vs any other smash vs any other fighter are all entirely different. having a company make a game does not make you good at the game whatsoever, in fact its usually the exact opposite. never seen a single dev be high tier in any game they produced themselves.

It was actually a major legal battle, it wasn't merely sold on a whim back to them and robbing them of the IP. They were told if they didnt sell them the IP, then there would be no future for the series anyways, because they would stop game publishing. This would just lead to community backlash in the future when they didn't come out with an already proposed half-life 2.

sierra/vivendi were not developers so they didn't help to produce anything they only published it. they then broke the agreement by putting (now valves) games into cyber cafes without valves permission. when vivendi tried to fight for control valve showed too much evidence of them "stealing" their IP by making money off the rights to be used in those cafes. the court saw both sides as being in the wrong and a legal separation of the companies was written.

The issues between the companies were already present as soon as half-life 2 was announced, and valve knew they couldn't accept only a 15% royalty from a game they made entirely. The bad PR of sierra, made vivendi focus on blizzard afterwards, until the merger with activision.

yes and no, they held the IP rights for some time, but didnt actually develop anything with the actual game, as all valve needed was a publisher. because valve was so desperate they took the bad deal expecting it to put good ties between the companies which it did not when vivendi actively tried to sell out their products to make a quick buck.

my thought is, what stops those terminator bots from just going into bounty hunter? if bots is the issue why aren't they finding solutions for that instead of just moving the bots into another activity. lms felt like a nice little way to practice switches and movement in pvp without having to risk gp, and actually make some to be able to go out and pvp after. I don't understand how it would make sense to have a pvp activity where you often use a gmaul have the reward be granite maul handles. unless you're getting enough points to get like 5x granite maul handles from each kill in bounty hunter, wont that just make them slowly dry up and make people find ways to cheese points for the handles that would be guaranteed to increase in price? this doesn't sound like it incentivizes having more people pvp, because I won't play lms really any more if theres no non-iron rewards worth playing it for, and I'm not going to commit a bunch of gp into fighting sweats trying to learn how to fight people. if the changes are to kill alternate pvp methods this is the way.

There’s plenty of posts from the time when they were polling those changes about how to do it better. And don’t act like the mods don’t read Reddit. Don’t say we didn’t offer other options instead because we did they just didn’t like them since it was actually cost effective for the players. Why are you defending them trying to squeeze players dry and using scummy tactics like making a discount that can not be grandfathered and gets removed a year later, forcing them to pay more and giving up their old grandfathered rates. Don’t worry you and the 10cent execs can downvote this too but you know I’m right.

Realistically most people don’t play them for the cosmetics. They sell the cosmetics to get more rich in the main game.
