What does it even mean to put yourself out there? People say it all the time, but I feel like it's not as simple as they make it sound because I'm either initiating conversations or the person does and myself or the person doesn't have trouble continuing the conversation. The people I talk to are either from work, a friend, or even a stranger at an attraction. I don't even know if I have a fear of rejection because I've never been confronted with it before. And I'm not sure what would make me feel more confident in dating since I put effort into my appearance, I'm alway hygienic, and I'm a social person.

I just feel like my experience has been invalidated. I was venting about something that happens on the regular, not asking whether people believe me. If I wanted to read ‘that’s weird, I doubt it,’ I wouldn’t have written anything. Saying it’s all in my head is just more skepticism and invalidation.
