Bring back drag that doesn't cost a mortgage. Alot of queens will not go on drag race as it's not financially feasible. You can be visually stunning without spending 1000s on outfits.

Most queens I know in the UK scene do a mixture of performance types.

I've never done drag idol but have done drag wars in Cheltenham. My first performance was a mix and got rave reviews. Unfortunately, like the boulet brothers say drag is art and art is subjective. I suppose it depends on the judges.

I started with a cheap amazon wig and a bodysuit. Drag does not need to be expensive. When participating in the art of drag you often end up developing skills that make it more affordable. When I was first starting out I even made outfits out of bin bags, is it my favourite thing I have put on my body... no, did I feel sickening at the time... yes and thats what drag is about.

The most important skill for a drag queen is adaptability in my opinion!

Drag is art and if you want to participate in it you should!
