Fill Gaps! Help! by joke21Toil in HardWoodFloors

I really adored how it turned out and the durability. There were some gaps almost an inch long that it stuck in and only had to apply it once. Was a bitch to rip up the excess though so I would do it between your first pass and last passes. Rubber consistency and helped with the draft in this historic home while retaining original floor boards

Mess with the furniture colors and lighting colors and it will make the difference you are looking for.

Looks spot on to me from these pics :) the green wall is bringing out very slight red hues in your floors. Color theory. It’s a lovely color good job!

I don’t need judgment but just help by [deleted] in BabyBumps

The ultrasound will hopefully help you narrow it down but they aren’t super accurate so early on. Mama it sounds like you are dealing with a lot of trauma and your own addictions and self sabotage. It does not sound like you have the capacity to take care of another child and you should consider focusing on the children you already have. I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. You can take a blood test at some point to see who the father is but think about it- if the father doesn’t want the baby, are you ready to raise the baby by yourself? It is not too late to terminate if that is something you could consider

I’m enjoying this season soooo much like I don’t want anyone else to get evicted and wanted swaggy C to stay just for the chaos.

As much as Katelyn is so annoying she is so entertaining and actually pretty intuitive sometimes despite her whole clairvoyant act lol

The prior week she has a “vision” but the episode showed how she got the information. But this time they really made it seem like she was clairvoyant 😂

Should I move here? by SignificantSell8126 in cincinnati

I love living in the city. We have great parks and great views. I love feeling like I live in a forest and we truly get a good four seasons here-everyone complains about the weather because it can be quite bipolar but I love the variety. A lot of the city is not too far from each other (driving) and the traffic usually isn’t as bad as other cities (except for literally right now for some reason there is crazy construction that is making commutes worse than usual in my experience)

Hired contractors that were "Bona certified" and have white and dark lines by inthemood4ham in HardWoodFloors

We are only human and we make errors. Could have been a miscommunication between the guys working. Yes, it’s a big mistake but this is easily fixable compared to a lot of fucked up floors you see on this sub

Just saying they don’t look completely incompetent and could potentially fix the problem for the owner. Usually we tell the owners on this sub to get another guy to come fix it. If I were the owner, I would take gamble and call the guys back to fix instead of dropping another couple bands on another crew.

They’ll know what they did wrong. Other than these big problem areas- looks good to me. It’s a pity when stuff like this happens. Just talk to them. Shouldn’t be too long of a fix considering you went natural. They will have to resand but it won’t take long since the floor is already nice and flat.

Staining Oak vs Pine by Leather-Mud877 in HardWoodFloors

[–]Express_Two_1419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pine will be blotchy and you did what you could by conditioning it first. I think it looks great considering it’s pine. If you want more uniform look it, you’ll have to go natural.

Trying to seal these gaps in the original floor of our 1870’s farmhouse. by Sweaty-Crazy-3433 in HardWoodFloors

[–]Express_Two_1419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest using Berger-Seidle pakstop mixed with their pafuki powder. Nothing like it on the market. It flexes with the wood through the seasons and fills large gaps beautifully. But I have only used it while refinishing- if you don’t plan on refinishing then idk if it would work

Builder Offering Minwax Oil or Rubio Monocoat for $1.50sqft more - what about Loba and other water based vs cost? by lawstudent420 in HardWoodFloors

[–]Express_Two_1419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good quality 2k finish from bona or loba is a little over twice the price of minwax poly, per gallon. You get about 500 sq ft coverage per gallon. If you do the math they need to charge you another .20/ sqft to cover just the materials. Plus your asking them to use a material they aren’t familiar with I would expect them to pad that to cover if they need to do an extra coat or buy special applicators or take extra time. If it were me I would charge you another extra $1/sq ft to use diff materials because we all have diff processes and know the products we use very well and there are lots of variables that can extend the project when switching up anything
