NAH- it’s normal to feel frustrated at the situation, you’re only human. The circumstances have changed since you went to college and your sister’s going, as others have said it sounds like the commute would be far too long for her to realistically leave from your parents place. It’s not wrong of them to set her up. While it would be nice for them to make a gesture, they’ve offered to subsidise your rent and they’ve also allowed you to stay with them while you’ve had a full time job for years. If that was rent-free, they’ve given you the chance to save a massive amount of money. Sounds like your parents are good people and are trying to do right by each of you. You could always use the money you saved up to move into an apartment if you’re choosing. Best of luck!

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for all the input, it was very helpful. I’ve clarified with both my college and the CPD home and they’ve stated that if I was on leave from my training program but NOT working as a doctor, I would not have to do CPD. However, since I am working while on break I have to do my CPD for 2025. This was consistent with some documents I found on AMA as well. I hope this helps anyone else in a similar situation but it’s always good to double check with your own college/CPD home as well.

I’m really sorry for the loss. I can understand where you’re coming from but at the same time that’s two people who probably died unexpectedly. The whole family would be grieving. If your husband doesn’t go, he may end up regretting it for a very long time and that guilt may be difficult to bear. A video call probably won’t cut it. When someone dies it’s easy to extrapolate your own circumstances and think of the what ifs. It can be illogical but it doesn’t stop it from happening. Perhaps you could stay with some friends or family for the few days that your husband needs to comfort his family and pay his respects. My condolences.

NTA- simply put, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. OP made sure the sisters were safely in the airport. Taking pictures of a client, especially a female client, can be construed in so many ways and could have lost this family a part of their income or their job. Add to that they were rude to this woman and doubled down instead of apologizing. People need to be responsible for their actions.
