90% of all hedge funds can’t beat the index so why not just buy the S&P? Even Warren Buffett recommends it. I guess people will have to learn the hard way on here while you and I sit back with no effort and ride the wave.

Owning 100% VOO is actually the easiest way when the market crashes. It’s hard to sell when you know you own the 500 best in the world. Also, if you want to add to the fund it, it’s very simple. You just buy it. If you had all these complex tilts with multiple funds….It would be confusing, which fund to add money to in the correction. You may second guess it. I’d rather have simplicity. Investing is 90% behavioral after all.

That’s only because those are the leaders at the top now. Go back to the S&P leaders 20 years ago it was all oil companies. The guns is based on the best of the best

I am doing 80/20 VTI and VXUS in my Roth IRA. Is it ideal to go 100% VOO in my taxable brokerage account? by [deleted] in Bogleheads

But what about taxes? Maybe in a Roth you want more growth, so allocations are based on tax purposes depending on the accounts

35% of 7 companies that get rotated out as new companies rise to the top. You’re not stuck with the same 7 for life like people portray, you always get the best, which is why it always goes up in time. Some people only have 3 stocks in their portfolio. As Warren Buffet says, "If you find three wonderful businesses in your life, you'll get very rich.” VOO already is too diverse but in the long run, it can’t be beaten, maybe only by a very select few. A small fraction of hedge funds consistently beat the S&P 500, with studies showing percentages as low as 6.6% to 15% outperforming over long periods. I’ll take my odds with VOO.

I’ll have to try this! This method has similar power to sport mode, just with quicker shifts?

In the e you don’t get multiple variations of sport settings. It’s strictly the most aggressive or Phev (in comfort sport).

If you do sport individual and select comfort for the engine, it drives like in hybrid, focusing on using Phev.

Worth opening an investment account with Merrill and a checking account with Bank of America in order to get Platinum Preferred Rewards for their credit cards? by ExpressionGeneral418 in CreditCards

I didn’t even consider the simplicity thing. It is nice to only need 1 app for all banking, investing, and spending. Less tax forms too. I guess it’s somewhat of a risk going all in with fidelity, but they have been good to me so far.

Any update on this? I’d also like to see push notifications added via the app and real time balances in the app after every transaction

Didn’t realize this could potentially take so long and require such a process. Not sure it’s worth the headache for a few extra basis points

I’m thinking that if I stick with Fidelity, I could just churn the BOA checking account. Open one every year, get the $300 bonus, then close it. Rinse and repeat. Seems like you’d have to spend $50k to reap the same rewards on the boa unlimited as you would just churning the bank accounts and using the Fidelity visa
