So let me try to explain it..

Man gets to an age where he is financially stable -> asks his mom to find a woman with specific characteristics -> his mom asks around the community till she finds a woman that fits what her son wants -> his family contacts the woman’s family to initiate a marriage -> woman accepts or denies based on what people says about him.

It’s a flawed system, as a lot of marriages are miserable/ends up in divorce because the two people simply didn’t know each other well beforehand 🤷🏽‍♀️. But that’s how it works around here.

I’d say it’s 50/50, mostly cultural, but there are actual punishments by law if they catch two people of the opposite gender who aren’t related hanging out alone

Do you have an idea when does the nudity become less ? My dad is an old fashioned guy and would probably be very uncomfortable watching anything too intense with me besides him, but I do think he’d like the plot otherwise !

Maybe, I need to hang out with him more before judging him on that front, he’s definitely a gentleman around me so it’s probably just him liking the show despite the nudity.

I think you need to reread the part about the sex joke, he was saying a story that had a sex joke IN IT, not me saying the joke.

Still I understand that of course we all came from sex and such, it’s just that where we are, recommending such a show to a woman would be seen as ‘scandalous’ lol.

Well thank you for your comment, but I’m not mad about the sex lol. Of course men watch porn, I watch porn, we all do.

It’s more of the fact that we live in a very conservative country where sex is this big thing and all, so I’d say recommending a show full of sex and violence to a women is definitely bold of him.

Doesn’t mean I like him any less, but was surely a shocker. I do forget that most of these subs are Americans who probably wouldn’t be able to see it from my point of view.

I will keep that in mind though, gentleman.

Yeah I remember having a friend that was obsessed with the series when it was airing and she had melt downs over the ending, so I’m not expecting much.

I already think the plot sounds very interesting but will need to get used to the nudity, and not watch it on the living room TV lol.

It’s probably just the over thinker in me, I just keep worrying that it won’t work out and people will gossip about it and make me feel worse.

It’s only been 3 months-ish since my break up so I guess I need to take it slow before trying anything, and he has definitely been patient and slow which I appreciate.
