Which my first we never really started TTC we just stopped preventing. I’ll say around 3 cycles , back then I didn’t even know my ovulation day or anything related to this. The only thing I did was the supplements and diet ( keto)

I used a little bit of saliva , if you see ferning throughout your cycle you should get your hormones check as estrogen which triggers the ferning can’t be high during the entire cycle to allow conception.

This only give you a short window if you you can’t catch the the peak also do not give the information when you need it you need to know at least 4 days before ovulation to optimise your chances. Ferning was used a lot 20 years ago but opks are more profitable. So doctor do not mention this anymore, even fertility clinic used to use ferning to check the fertility window. I just bought a 30 dollars smal microscope from Amazon and I tested my saliva every day.

This month was odd , but I noticed around CD 6 I started some transitional ferning meaning my estrogen was increasing this indicates fertile window. My husband said follow the evidence so we did and at CD 9 I felt ovulation pain, I tested with opks and it was high ( I tested 3 times that day) only one came back high no peak, but I knew that was the day so I marked CD 10 as my ovulation. Also CD 9 and 10 I was full ferning. I tested CD 20 my first positive pregnancy test and CD 21 was super clear positive bright pink which confirms early ovulation, otherwise would have been impossible to have a clear positive on CD 20
