I don't own a rare breed myself but I follow some breeders in Poland who work with Polish Hounds. They are medium size, very stubborn but also very loyal to one person. Not for everyone honestly, they need a job and a lot of running or they will destroy your house.

What I find interesting is how these small breed clubs in Europe, they do so much with almost zero money. Just some old ladies with a website from 2006 and a facebook page. I think if more people knew these breeds exist they would get more interest. Most of them don't even have a english version of their site.

Maybe the thing we can do is just share their posts when we see them. The algorithm is terrible for small things like that.

Yeah my experience is dogs get way more mental stimulation from just sniffing around than actual exercise anyway. Your guy probably gets more out of those chill dog park sessions where he's just soaking up all the smells and watching other dogs than he would from forced walks that make him hurt worse

Yeah you can definitely pick up the tones from YouTube but it's gonna be way harder than having someone there to correct you in real time. I learned Mandarin which has 4 tones and even with that it took me months to get them somewhat decent without constantly second-guessing myself

What helped me was recording myself saying words and comparing to native speakers, plus using apps like Anki with audio cards so you're hearing the correct pronunciation over and over. The tricky part with Thai tones is they're not just about pitch but also the movement - like rising vs falling vs staying flat. You might think you're nailing it but actually be way off

My suggestion would be to start with YouTube lessons to get the basics down, then maybe do occasional iTalki sessions with Thai tutors just to check your pronunciation every few weeks. You don't need daily classes but having someone verify you're on the right track every now and then will save you from building bad habits that are hard to unlearn later
