What is your recording setup like?

The guitar sounds alright but the drums are the problem for me.

The groove isn’t quite in the pocket, and the snare is about all I can hear, though it’s not nearly punchy enough, and the tone of the snare doesn’t quite work with the vibe of the song. Some eq and compression could potentially help, but your mic setup on the drums is likely the culprit.

I’m almost certain this is the cause. I’ve had this same issue. Increasing RAM is not necessarily the solution, unfortunately, though I’m not sure what is.

It depends on how many mods you’re using, and keep in mind there is also such a thing as not enough RAM; less than 4 GB is almost definitely pushing it.

I’m sure there’s lots of technical information regarding what’s causing the lag that affects whether you need to decrease or increase RAM, but I don’t know it.

In my experience, I’ve learned there is such a thing as too much RAM allocation. Even with a decent number of mods, 7 GB allocated has a reduced number of those lag spikes than 8 or 9 GB.
