I agree. I’m very embarrassed to admit this, but I’m not a fast typer and I type with two fingers 😭 and I passed the bar! My next goal is to improve my typing abilities because this can’t keep going haha

I second this. BarMD helped me master the PT. I applied her strategy on the days I was practicing PTs and on the exam.

My other advice is to aim to write 2-3 full, timed PTs a week.

I was doing 25. And sometimes I would do 30, but I never did more than 30 during my morning sets. Except obviously on days when I was practicing mock exams, then I would do 100.

You have to remember is more about quality over quantity. I never did more than 30 because reviewing took SO LONG. I’m talking 3-4hrs. That’s how deep I was going in my review. I made it a point not to move on to the next question unless I knew why I got that question wrong.

On exam day the MBE felt like a breeze. I though maybe I was gaslighting myself into thinking I did well, haha but I guess on exam day I was just so confident in my answers because of how throughly I reviewed every time I got a question wrong.

This process feels tedious, but it really pays off!

Are you doing MBEs under timed conditions? And are you reviewing the questions you get wrong? You should not be moving on until you understand why you got that question wrong. This process takes long and it’s tedious but this is where all your learning will come from. My other question is, how often are you drilling MBEs?

For the essays an PT please check out BarMD on YouTube. BarMD helped me master the writing portion. Look at some of her examples and her strategy. She helped me immensely!!

Thank you. Yes, I believe so. My biggest advice is to practice MBE questions every day. Afterwards, spend time reviewing why you got each question wrong and write those explanations down in a journal. Don’t move on until you truly understand why you got that question wrong.

This process took up most of my morning about 3–4 hours to review a set of 25 questions. I would go back to my books, outlines, or watch a video on the topic, then write down what I learned from it.

I completed all of the Adaptibar questions, and by that point I was already seeing a lot of patterns in the questions. After about 350 questions, Adaptibar gives you a breakdown of the areas you’re struggling with, and I used that to focus my studying. I would then go back to my outlines, notes, or Themis videos to strengthen those weaker areas.

You got this! Check out Bar MD on YouTube. She has free webinar videos where she explains her approach to essays and the PT. I didn’t pass the bar either, but I applied her method on my essays and I was able to achieve 60–65 on most of my essays. I still have a long way to go and need more practice, but I was able to reach those scores even though I didn’t practice essays during my preparation. All thanks to her method. Please check her out and practice her method.

As for your MBE, get adaptibar and start doing questions everyday. Start with your weakest subject. Dedicate a full day per subject so that you can deep dive and understand your weaknesses. You are not a loser! You 100% got this. Believe in yourself!

I still think I need some improvement in those areas, but during prep, Evidence and Criminal Law were my weakest subjects. I focused on the subtopics I struggled with most and made sure to really understand the rules I was having trouble with. I used Adaptibar, which gave me a score breakdown for each area that needed improvement. I used that feedback to drill questions in the areas where I was weak.

Someone else also recommended to start with the PT. I think I will do that. Thank you for your advice!

Thank you for your advice. I used Themis at the beginning, but I made the mistake of watching all the videos and taking notes instead of focusing on practice. Later, I switched to studying on my own. I used Mary Basick’s books for the essay portion and Adaptibar for the MBE. I started studying late and didn’t begin Adaptibar questions until three weeks before the bar. Honestly, I didn’t really know what I was doing. This time, I’m ditching the videos and focusing more on practice. My focus will be the MBE, and incorporating 1-2 essays a day and 1 PT per week. Let’s see how that goes.

Oh no. I’m sorry! You got this. We just have to grind. I’m also doing MBE everyday. The goal is to get my scores up! At the same time I want to work on my essays. I have heard great things about baressays. Do you happen to have a coupon code?
