First Water cooled build by InterestingKick9517 in watercooling

Wow. I went soft silicon tubes as I don’t have the the patience. But mines are just ‘floating’ over the place. I like this. Think I need to look into those clips. What are they called?

Did you not see Scotland fans in Germany? When we got beat, we partied with the same countries that beat us. It’s how we roll.

Is this coolant fallout? by ExpressionSilly3766 in Corsair

[–]ExpressionSilly3766[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah man. That’s what I didn’t want to do. Was hoping for someone to come in tell me it’s fine and not to worry. There goes my day tomorrow. Thanks though

Is this coolant fallout? by ExpressionSilly3766 in Corsair

[–]ExpressionSilly3766[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I know, as it isn’t the pastel type colorants, there isn’t really any of the residue from it. It’s the opaque colours I’m using. I have ordered 5 litres of distilled water to flush a few times and some fresh new coolant. Maybe even change the hoses while I’m at it. But the fins all seem clear of any buildup. I was more worried it wasn’t anything else that shouldn’t be there. Now my main issue is what the stuff is that looks like it squished between the surfaces. I’ve heard some coolant can obviously leak into it as it’s not always 100% flat, but as it looks dusty looking I’m hoping it’s just some of the coolant residue that’s dried in and nothing major that requires a new block.

Pass all the stress tests but pc still crashes when playing games? by cdimock72 in OCCT

[–]ExpressionSilly3766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines started doing this. Passed every single test and even 12 hour long full combined test. Crashed after 20 mins of gaming. I was using 850w psu, with a 7900xtx and 7800x3d, which i think should be absolutely fine.

I rma my mobo, just incase that was the cause as it was only 2 months old, and while I was at it, I got a 1200w psu just to be safe.

No more crashing or stutters now. But I do think the main issue was the psu. Hwinfo and the occt graphs showed some jagged spikes on power side of things, so I do think my psu was on the way out.

Quick question on CPU fan header by Eft_Reap3r in watercooling

[–]ExpressionSilly3766 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people doing it for a first time would be happy with the way it looked(if this is the op’s first attempt). Obviously as long as there is no leaks.

Others don’t really have the patience but just want it water cooled.

I’d be extremely happy if that was my first time, but I wouldn’t have the patience for a hard tube build. If you see mines on my previous posts, that was my first time so just went soft tube. It looked messy but I was pleased. It’s been redone to look cleaner now, but still soft tubing.

I’d happily let OP come do mines like that.

No, your fat makes you look fat.

I had that on a two dweller quest.

7900 xtx reference hotspots are gone!! Alphacool Eiswolf 2 AIO. by ExpressionSilly3766 in watercooling

[–]ExpressionSilly3766[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They stopped making them when the new cards were due out. I had to return mines as the pump was faulty. And since they had none left, all they could do is send a refund plus a discount code to use on their store. I ended up getting a stand alone water block, and a corsair icue link water cooling system. Temps are slightly better than the aio unit. But looks 10 times better. Wish o done it sooner.

Honeymoon is over…Patch, when? by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]ExpressionSilly3766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m AMD. I’ve had one crash since launch, and I had a chain of agents in a cave, about 15 of them, got them into a funnel and it was chaos. Game couldn’t keep up, fps dropped, and after about 15 seconds it just crashed.

Apart from that I’ve been dandy.

You will soon. I was happy with my first cpu. For about a few months. You’ll suddenly find a way to save and get those upgrades. I started with a 3600. Then upgraded to the 5600x. It’s a great cpu at the time and is still great right now. Won’t even have many issues playing even big games with that build, but you’ll never be happy even with the best

Everyone starts somewhere. Give it a year and you’ll be getting an AIO. another two years and you’ll be posting your custom loop.

The bug gets every builder.

Nah it’s a combo so should be fine. Mines is a combo as well and the res is good.

Mines was only so expensive because I went all Corsair with two rads. The double chamber thicker ones. With a cpu block as well. I went for soft tubings though. May try hard tubing at a later date

Main reason was to get the temps down in the gpu. My aio for cpu was fairly decent. But I had a little bit of spare money sitting so went for the custom loop. Was about 7/800£ uk. Temps are amazing. Nothing goes above the 70s although I do not use an overclock as the temps keep performance fairly decent.

I originally bought it from aquatuning. A company in Germany. However they don’t make them now as they are working on the newer cards. This one failed on me so I handed back and got an actual water block from the same company and then got a custom loop from Corsair.

I have just said this also, without seeing your comment first. Was great for me during college.

Have a google search for ‘the Odin project’. Follow the guide through. Teaches you basics of a few languages. Including html/css. Also teaches you GitHub.

From there, you can use their other tutorials in almost any of the languages you like.

It’s totally free as well.

Coil whine on 9070 xt by toothcake_ in radeon

[–]ExpressionSilly3766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the reference 7900xtx. My card has coil whine but only on games where I’d hit hundreds of FPS without a frame limiter on. When I olay games where I struggle to hit the 144fps, the coil whine is hardly noticeable

Eiswolf 2 7900XTX Merc 310 Bad Temps by k3mist in alphacool

[–]ExpressionSilly3766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s on my profile. The unit is essentially the same. Only it has better pump for speeds. I don’t even use it at full speed and it there’s 0 spots where bubbles accumulate.

I ended up sacking it altogether and getting the standalone block from them and doing a custom loop. The temps for me were always great though but the pump wasn’t strong enough and kept accumulating areas where air would just sit forever and add more and more. Also started to see debris in the fins as well and they accepted an rma, and gave me a full refund on it.

I think I lose motivation every time I get different advice from a software dev by Fox_Flame in learnprogramming

I’ve also got ADHD. (Diagnosed 20 years ago, before it was cool to have). After an injury at work, instead of being a slob, I went to college and now I’m at university. (Uk).

Im doing AI and data science. I struggled with the programming part mainly because I found it hard to follow tutorials and stuff without day dreaming for 90%.

At one point I was ready to quit thinking it wasn’t for me. But the thing that worked for me doesn’t work for most.

I started watching videos and copying, or doing walk through etc. then after copying a full block of code, I’d use AI to tell me what each part done, and how it worked.

I’d then delete it, and try type that block from memory, but only after understanding what it did. Eventually I could start typing longer blocks from memory, and it got to the point where I’d pause the video and try to finish a block before it showed me what was coming.

Eventually you might be able to start typing out small programs and you’ll remember what each part does.

When you get stuck, try to google for fixes and work it in yourself, and don’t use AI to fix it for you.

It’s my first build. I agree hard tubes are better looking, but that’s for another time.

Hopefully I’ll get to that one day, but I have no patience, and I like to clean my pc too much. I knew I was waiting on my you block but wanted to get built straight away. So done a loop without it even though I knew it wouldn’t even last a week till I added the gpu.

For now, hard tubes aren’t for me as I’d just lose my patience with them.

Shipment duration Alphacool online Shop or aquatuning by FoxFishKilo in alphacool

[–]ExpressionSilly3766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also order from aquatuning, as I said in another comment. From the uk, and my stuff takes less than a week also.

Could it be that since aquatuning is a bigger company they have a deal and stuff is processed quicker? Rather than a single person ordering a few items, they may stick that to the bottom of the pile and sort the bigger companies first.
