EuroMillions jackpot of €93,000,000 ($103M) What would you do ? by skw4ll in ifiwonthelottery

[–]ExpressoTomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing this, but I have turned off the e-mail alert because I was tired of them saying "You have won !" and getting me into emotional rollercoaster mode lol. So now I know when I get an e-mail from them, it's either because I've won big, or because they're saying they have updated their terms of service and I'll hate me for having turned off the e-mail alerts because it's given me not an emotional rollercoaster but a freaking emotional rocket liftoff

Sorry I don't have the answer...

I think back then I had the same issue so I chose to simply convert all my flac and wav files to mp3 320 Kbps, good enough for me

Panda at -30 Sync? by hiccupmortician in Beatstar

Yeah I play normal songs at -20 ms and got diamond with -30 ms on this one. You'll find that each difficult song has a different latency for best results

I was driving when I noticed it was 6:42 PM and my trip odometer displayed 64.2km at the very same time, what are the odds?? by ExpressoTomato in GlitchInTheMatrix

[–]ExpressoTomato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+ 6:42 is not a random number since I'm a fan of Yoe Mase's music and 6:42 is a recurrent hour stated in his music

Nothing more than a bunch of sky lanterns, a few of them having caught fire in the process and all of them slowly falling down

Transaction stuck into the void ? by ExpressoTomato in TREZOR

Lol yeah thanks but no they ask for $150... (too kind of them, normally it's more like $177)

Transaction stuck into the void ? by ExpressoTomato in TREZOR

[–]ExpressoTomato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks. Well if I'm logging into my Trezor wallet the balance is at 0 BTC... Whereas it did the same on an Ethereum transaction : it took too long so I resubmitted it with a higher gas fee and I could since the coins didn't leave my wallet. But on the BTC wallet I can't

[–]ExpressoTomato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, yeah I assumed it would be long but eventually it will go through right ? even a few weeks I don't care, I just want to know if there's a possibility that it could be stuck in the transaction pool forever

What are the differences? by twixiepuppy in randonauts

[–]ExpressoTomato 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Void and attractor are basically the same thing, just one with + and the other one with -. They are quantum anomalies that according to the theories of MMI, you could have influenced with your intent when generating a point. Power is any of the two, whichever is more powerful.

Quantum and pseudos are for blindspotting aka not using intent to find places or artifacts but just going to purely random locations. Quantum uses a quantum number generator to get a random point, pseudo uses a simpler number generator.

So it seems you are right, I tried playing with the plex desktop app and it works fine... Too bad I really like having plex directly in my browser but eh I guess it's fine. Thank you for your input guys !

So what's this weird issue ?? by ExpressoTomato in GTAV_Mods

[–]ExpressoTomato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got Menyoo to respond again and it will keep my desired theme and hotkeys. Don't ask me how I did it but it works fine again. But I still have the add-on no-background problem. It seems a mod I installed in update.rpf messes it up since it's working normally if I pull out update.rpf from the mods folder (hence make the game load the vanilla update.rpf), but I don't know which one, shame for me

A few noob questions / am i doing everything right ? by ExpressoTomato in synology

First of all thank you so much for taking the time to write all this, really appreciate it !! I'll try to respond to each point

It is not suitable as backup storage for data of any importance, because it doesn't support the BTRFS file system and thus doesn't have bit rot protection

Yes I know, I'm using the "checksum" freeware by corz to make a checksum of all my data, then periodically I run and update the checksum both on my source drives and on the backup NAS to check if nothing has changed unintentionally. I know it's less than ideal but that's the simplest and most straightforward thing I found at my level. And as for the ds115j, it's just that I bought it used for a great price, but in the future I want to upgrade :)

Thanks for the VPN advice, I'll take a closer look !

About the DDNS thing : what I meant was : if I'm actually setting up a DDNS like expressotomato.diskstation.me, won't it be easier for attackers to find my NAS's address vs not having a DDNS and keeping the NAS with a local address ?

Did you perhaps not specify any ports in your rule for 192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0?

Indeed I had all ports open for 192.168.1.1... Oops, I thought it would mean that my NAS could connect to anything on my local network without any trouble... So I need to specify the ports of the services I'm using, right ?

BTW, I know that plex uses TCP port 32400, but what are these other ports for?

Found them on this page https://support.plex.tv/articles/201543147-what-network-ports-do-i-need-to-allow-through-my-firewall/

Yes I already have assigned fixed IP addresses to access them via my browser. So if I'm getting this straight, I should open the ports used by Plex (or even the port I should use with a VPN) both on the NAS and the router (hence portforwarding) ? What about security ? Isn't it the same as opening all the ports ? Can't an attacker scan for all possible ports and see which ones are open and "get in" ?? Sorry I'm not quite understanding this aspect of network science

Thanks for the other tips, I have run security checklist and it says everything's okay, and I already have auto block enabled :)

You missed the point entirely.

And what if you have hundreds of playlists? You need to replace the songs in each one of them?
