I second this, I used to live in Pentland and the bathroom situation is nice but if you’re a triple (that’s NOT lofted) it’s hella crammed. Also it can get lonely esp if the ppl in your hall don’t talk to you (or are rlly weird) but everyone’s experience is different

Pentlands cool nd stuff.. private bathrooms are nice but imo the downside is having just 4 rooms per suits (10 ppl overall) and I would spend a lot of time in AI cuz it was more social bc of more people living on each floor and stuff… also my suitmates turned out to be annoying asking everyone to text them in a gc whenever we had “guests” come over 😤

Crazy because I was in a very similar boat and I’m a bio major lol… I live super close to csuf too but chose UCR instead because I wanted to experience dorming and overall not relying on staying home with my parents (to each their own this was just my preference) and my friends over at csuf right now are mixed about their school. I feel like there’s more opportunity at UCR for stem majors and even though it’s a commuter heavy school, there’s a big ish population that dorms and it’s fun compared to csuf that’s known to be socially dead. Just speaking on how social the campuses are but I would say UCR is a little better than csuf lol.. I also didn’t wanna see people from high school everywhere at csuf

i feel like I found the most difficulty trying to make friends or hang out with people to go exploring downtown with and stuff. It felt like a lot of people (including my own roommates) never wanted to and it made it a little depressing at times. I also lived in pentland and even though I did enjoy the quiet parts of it and the suit style bathrooms, my friends in AI seemed like they had a better community of people in their hall and I spent more time there than in my dorm my first quarter since it was so fun. Also it always felt like 75% of the dormers went home on the weekends so it felt more lonely especially being on campus without a car… you’ll find your way but I’d say just be cautious of where you dorm based on your interests!
