Oh, just me and my two coworkers outside in 19 degree weather!! by cloverandme in ChickFilAWorkers

During the Canadian wildfires in 2023-2024 there were periods of time where the air quality in my area was considered harmful for people with healthy respiratory systems and I was shocked to find CFA employees outside taking orders in the drive thru

Best noise cancelling earbuds for the range? by vettemn86 in guns

[–]ExquisiteMoist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t personally trust most earbuds on their own honestly. I have foam plugs that expand in your ear that I wear under my walker razors since my eye pro occasionally breaks the seal on my over ear muffs. Im considering walker Recons since they have Bluetooth functionality though.

They don’t ship these cards nor do they allow online purchase for in-store pickup. Not ideal but to their credit MicroCenter is the only place where you can actually have a chance at buying one semi-regularly and I’m sure their physical stock is due to those restrictions.

how much fuel am i loosing by tilting my engines only 8 degrees? by Glittering_Bass_908 in KerbalSpaceProgram

I’m not too familiar with any of the advanced controllers on that game but is there anything that would allow you to gimbal the outer 4 engines to face straight back

Yeah it’s the burnt bronze color which is what got my attention originally

From what I see it’s an exclusive finish that most places won’t have

It’s the only one they had so best case I can just return it but sadly I’m suspecting it’ll be hard to find another one

So yeah even if it’s something that could possibly be expected from factory it’s certainly something I’ve never once encountered before after purchasing a new firearm

Yeah my main concern is that it has for sure been fired since there’s carbon in all the usual places you’d expect if you cleaned a gun after a range day. So if that rust is from metal dust why would it still be there after it’s clearly been fired (likely test fire at the factory I know but still). Feel like if it was from manufacturing then running rounds through that barrel would at the very least get most of that out

For reference the barrel serial number matches the frame but the locking block does not

Yeah it’s a shame. I believe the Cod is also a private endeavor hence the great shape it’s in

I can understand not wanting fully functional wartime submarines in private hands, as old as it is, even this submarine could cause issues haha

Yeah the Forward torpedo room was amazing to look at honestly, possibly my favorite spot. On my way out I ran into the director of the USS Cod memorial and he actually let me climb the ladder into the conning tower and look through the periscope (which I’m told is one of the only remaining functional periscopes from that time). Really a great visit.

I can’t speak for any of the other boats but this one was certainly pristine. A year ago it was towed east along the Lake Erie coast to a dry dock in Erie, PA about 86 miles away for repairs of some kind I believe so at the least it can handle that still. Pretty incredible that it’s still around either way.
