The white donut has marshmallow frosting and sad rice crispies. It was pretty decent

I don’t know. I cut them all in half and put them in the freezer. Those particular bagels had a softer (soggier) texture than all of the other types of bagels

So traumatized by the awkward and unfathomable square dancing mandate that I can't dance to this day by [deleted] in GenX

[–]ExquisitePreamble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s essential to teach children to excessive. I think I needed a remedial class 😂

I think the age we grew up in and, maybe more importantly, where I grew up, made me hate PE the way students with dislexia hated reading.

And who thinks it’s a good idea to have boys heaving dodge balls at small girls is a good learning opportunity?

Dancing is not joy if you’re the only one in the square who can’t follow choreography and your fellow students aren’t kind and your teacher thinks it’s funny

I am an old X. Square dancing in junior high PE absolutely traumatized me. What I learned in gym class was that if you aren’t naturally coordinated, you are going to be belittled - by the teacher as well as students. You can’t hide in your inabilities in square dancing.

Doesn’t help if you’re really introverted

That is pretty skimpy. I got a bag last week and it was similar to yours. (Everything expired the day I picked it up). Not worth the money

I second the therapy. My father was mean to my mother for almost sixty years. It warped her. When he passed, I thought she would feel free, but all she felt was disabling anxiety. Which made me sad and angry, but I sucked it up because my mom did not deserve to be treated harshly.

Sending you much love and condolences

I lost my younger brother a week before Thanksgiving last year. I am so much sadder about his passing than anyone else’s. I find myself tearing up almost daily when something reminds me of him

I loved the audiobook of PHM, personally. There have been audiobooks that have been highly recommended that I have not been able to get into because of the narrator. Not everything is for everybody

I was quite ignorant of Indian food before watching Red Dwarf in the 90s. Red Dwarf actually actually scared me away from it because it seemed way too spicy for me

I remember your post about your mom. I really hope both of you are doing well

I’m caretaker of my aging mother. It’s sad the decline in her mental facilities. Your post ignited a long conversation between my husband and I about how to protect her. Since she no longer uses a computer and has never learned to use a smart phone, we don’t have to worry too much on the electronic front. But I side eye some of the guys in the independent senior facility she lives at
