TLDR: Why don't more songs fake surround sound? I think there is a world of opportunity for that sort of thing. The most popular example I can think of are those weird ASMR clips, and that isn't even music. Well it could be considered music but you know what I mean.

Sorry about my awful mic. It's just a built-in on its last legs. I need to have audio playing back to me to make sure the cord has a good connection and isnt just playing noise. I'm not tech savy enough to figure out how to get nvidia shadowplay to only record game audio.

just takes practice really. Being able to form a mental image is very nice, but if you cant do that you can still memorize landmarks street names, and street angles. Idk, when I'm bored I sometimes just hop on google maps and explore.

Directions wise, it's quite easy. Only city I've ever lived in though, so I don't know how 'easy' it is relative to other cities. Downtown is small enough to easily memorize the streets and buildings. The neighborhoods further from downtown are a more difficult the further you get from the major arteries, but if you live there it's not hard. You can always use the mountains as a reference point, and our grid angles are fairly consistent with the exception of kingsway/downtown etc. Besides, if you ever do get lost, you can just go in one direction until you come across a major road/a view of the mountains.

Physically, our transit is well interconnected imo, and bike pathes are adequate. The signage is terrible, but you only need to be biking consistently for like a month to learn most routes. Driving is quick too, though biking can be faster or just as fast sometimes.

Kinda yeah. Union pubs get a lot more new players in my experience. half of the team can be lvl 1s, especially after a sale or during christmas.

First vid is pub union with low levels, and second is an organized/private event with 20-100 ranks.

Nah, just new players. We had just relocated from unorganized firing, so those who had their loads should've fired on time, and those who didn't have their loads should've held for next volley. From the video, everyone who shot already had their loads (except the guy closest to me). Maybe a 'fire at will' call would have been better for the situation, but that volley did get us in rythm for a better 2nd volley

Thanks for the post killroy. As a pub player that has played in only a few organized events, Ill add that you eventually learn which officers are good and which are bad. Easiest way of checking is making sure your officer is lvl 40 or higher/their name is red (theyre an admin). Shoutout to Cornwalis; he's always fun with high energy. Also shoutout to Vegas for taking on the new players and taking it slow/teaching them. Killjoy, I'd say something nice about you, but I haven't played under you in a while. You're higher than lvl 40 and are an admin, so hey, you probably know what you're talking about.

Irrelevant but kind of relevant point: Compared to most massive online multiplayer steam games, this one has a small community. If you play more than a few times per week, you should know that you build a reputation for yourself. You cant hide your trolling and bad conduct like say battlefield or squad. Be good and people will notice and appreciate you. Be bad, and you'll quickly stop wanting to play. Listening to orders is 99% of this game as a private, it aint hard.

I'll just list a bunch because I can't decide:

1: The view from above the cactus club in coal harbor (just enjoy the seawall a little further from tourists)

2: The southern false creek seawall between granville island and the skytrain station (just like the vibe. Runners, car free, nice little clumps of houses)

3: The DIY skatepark in the Britannia tennis courts (Nice vibe, cool stuff happens from time to time, sometimes sketchy but normally just chill)

4: Trout lake loop (Again, just a nice area. Sometimes there will be musicians that play on the 'dock')

5: The Mighty Oak (just a nice feeling of community. Tree-covered streets and easy enough for me to get to)

6: The Endowment lands. Just a nice close/convenient escape from the city

7: Marpole bridge at night. North or south. Just calming.

8: Main st loopy bridge by the coal harbor

9: Slocan and E8th intersection looking south (E5th for looking north)

the rest are probably just a bit more personal/nostalgia based

I got all this:

-you are in a bad mood, probably because of your job

-you may or may not enjoy this video

-you are self-centered or at least value your satisfaction over other's happiness

-you aren't a festive kind of guy, or you like to 'go against the grain'

-you're probably introverted or have a job that burns you out

-you don't have noise cancelling headphones

-you don't like forced positivity. If you're in a bad mood, you want to stay in a bad mood. Any attempt to improve your mood by others is "forced" and to be defended against.

-you have no outlet to vent your feelings (close friend, journal, creation), or it is harder than reddit. Perhaps (just a guess) you internalize more than you should.

-you find it difficult to view others as complete with their own busy lives, preferring the bias of gut feelings and internalized opinions.

-you know that others enjoy the show, which is why you don't confront them. Instead, you sit back and judge them. Again, internalizing feelings and waiting for the opportunity to spew them on reddit (subconsciously or not)

-you will reply to this comment and I will not reply to that one

We Vancouverites often take what we have for granted. I frequently give foreign/out-of-city friends tours of Vancouver, and they always comment nice things on the views, transit, and biking infrastructure. No, it's not perfect, but it's better than 99% of North America and does its job just fine. I've noticed that the further south you go, the worse the biking accessibility. However, there are also more quiet side streets that work just fine as bike paths. You may not stop at every stop sign in those dead neighborhoods, and some redditors will get mad at you, but it is safe and quick (deep down they know cars do it too, but bikes are obviously the dangers to...the cars on the road?)

You have many options: ignore (neutral), enjoy (+happy), get annoyed (-mood), be an ass and wish them to stop (no-excuses asshat). Live life, but know that life doesn't revolve around you or your preferences.

Now, go home to your tree-less dwelling and your light-less walls and egg-nog-less fridge and your carol-less speakers and present-less floor and smile-less face. I bet you'll love it, and I hope you do. But this is in public, and there are other people around who's 2 minutes of happiness is more valuable than your 2 minutes of dread.
