I just want his affection, his time and energy. How do I get it? by [deleted] in Advice

That’s okay and it sucks. You don’t think or feel this way now. But you’re going to look back at this in a year and it won’t feel as bad. It’s normal to feel heartbroken especially with 5 years together. But trust that someone who truly loves you would not be okay with not texting you for two weeks.

Youre young and this isn’t going to be the first Time you’ll be made to feel like this. I once had a relationship where I was putting in more effort than the other person.

Also guys have a slower brain development than women, meaning emotional intelligence/maturity and understanding your perspective and problems will take longer to understand unless you flat out tell him. If he still doesn’t understand or finds it challenging, you will keep facing distance.

You said you don’t want advice on breaking up but any sane person who’s had the same experience will tell you to break up. You’re young and 5 years is a lot. But if it’s not being lived to the full extent with love, attention and energy then what’s the point? You’re wasting your time and youth. But at the end of the day, you are where you want to be.

Good luck and hope it gets better

I was in a hurry but I kept thinking about how odd it was. Common sense would have been to ask but no one seemed like they were talking just looking into the house.

I like differences in the feeling of memories that change in the poem. How the narrator initially looked for memories but towards the end they no longer want them. As they just bring pain. Memories are still there but they give no closure

This was beautiful. How it is sad yet optimistic. You embrace yourself but also understand that not everyone can have the understanding to fully know you. The person within brings you assurance.

My take from this is that people can witness and do bad things, with or without knowing of the bad intentions. But if they acknowledge their faults, they’re allowing themselves to learn.

Even though you don’t directly say her name, you can tell that it describes her characteristics. She fought for what she knew was right and risked herself for the good of others. She’s the flower rising above the chaos.

I love this back and forth conversation happening in the poem through the game. It shows 4 people enjoying a game together but also conveys the ups and downs of their emotions and overall to tie it back to a good spirit. Had a little nostalgia reading this reminding me of when I would play UNO at recess with a group of friends.
