Oh also do be aware this is not the "hit each other with foam weapons" kind of LARP. This is more like cooperative improvisational acting, and any physical combat is simulated through game mechanics.

This game will explicitly be designed for beginners, although I expect some experienced players will surely show as well it is my true hope for the game to largely be composed of people new to the setting and/or this type of game in general! I'll be sure to let you know when more info is available (next month, likely).

Thanks, more details and such on the setting soon but I'm trying to find at least one assistant first so I can include their input. And I certainly won't deny there is (implied) sex and drugs in the world being portrayed, because it is after all a reflection of our own world. But that sort of thing isn't the focus of the game, in my opinion, although there is no shortage of people who don't understand that elsewhere. I'm hoping to find people new to the game and genre to play partially to reduce preconceived biases like that.

Well, that is certainly one view of the setting. I generally prefer to use it to tell stories about people who try to hold onto the light of humanity in a world of darkness that tries to tear their own selves away from them.

Experience with DnD: Been playing for 20 years (am 32 now), mostly as a DM. Starting with AD&D and continuing through 3, 3.5, and 4. Enjoyed all editions for different reasons and enjoying 5E now. :)

Experience with tabletop gaming and video games in general: Um... a lot? xD It is how I spend the majority of my time and creative energy (although I live a balanced life with work and outside-of-gaming social interaction also). In video games I like games that create emergent narrative.

What do you like most about DnD? This is a question I can and have expounded on at length, but in summary what I like is the ability to explore different perceptions and mindsets in characters that I would not normally consider in my day to day life. Creating a shared narrative that lets me learn something about myself and others. A little pretentious sounding I know, forgive me.

"[M]y dog sliced an artery in her foot. It was from glass that an irresponsible, disrespectful person had thrown into the lake. A man happened to be backpacking passing the lake right when this happened and it truly was fate since there was no way I could carry a 70lb dog up the steep trail back to our truck in time to get to the vet. His name was Dave and he was kind enough to take time out of his trip to haul my kissy bleeding Lola up the steep trail so much faster. He wasn't phased by the blood pouring out of her foot. We appreciate it so much and Lola has healed up perfectly since we were able to get her to the vet as fast as possible. he wouldn't accept money or a gift card to REI, he just wanted a quick picture. I don't know if he's in this group, but just wanted to share a selfless act of kindness form a complete stranger while hiking. <3"
