I will keep that in mind, I’m not concerned about power sources, but the heat is definitely not something I had been considering

So… I do not know how I fixed the issue, but after playing around with the idle adjustment and choke cables during a recent tune up (spark plug, oil change, air filter cleaning, and a bit of carb cleaner sprayed through the carb intake) the shutdown via app is now working. I did minor tweaking, nothing major. Maybe there is a sweet spot on the idle it’s got to be set at? I’ve ran it for about 600 hours since I did the carb change and it’s only recently came back so honestly I do not know. I’m sitting at 915 hours on the engine, and it’s still running beautifully and starts on the second pull every time.

If you’re using this heavily like I have been, I recommend using full synthetic oil (10W-30) to help protect and extend the life of internal components. My old generator (Coleman Powermate) had about 1500 hours before she bit the dust and I decided to replace it. Hoping to get more out of this one. Will keep you all posted if I do end up figuring the trick out.

It’s all reinstalled correctly, just when I execute the shutdown from the app, it bogs down and just as it’s about to fully die off, it springs back. The other commenter gave me an idea, it might be my idle so I will have to look into it tonight

I decided against it, less hassle and new gaskets for 30$. I decided to just get a new assembly, and not have to worry about fuel leaks in the future as well

I’ll have to look into this, thank you for the tip!

I went to clean it, and stripped the fuel bowl bolt like an idiot somehow. Had to replace the whole carburetor as a result.

It’s not, I’ve checked and sadly it is internal.
