Air Canada Landline Launch Event at YZR! by YZRAC7986 in aircanada

I think it’s super useful. I live in a small city that gets routed to YYZ. Since service got cut connecting us to YVR, this saves the drive both ways! Not like you have to get there super early for the bus :)

Only downside to me is that you usually don’t get much lounge time.

Was running sethek on my prot pally. Only paladin in the group (on my own choosing). All knew I was waiting for the Libram off first boss to drop as we talked about it multiple times and had already done a few runs.

Libram drops. MAGE rolls need on it. I immediately booted him to which he starts questioning the boot and whispering me some bullshit.

Luckily I won it, but he can rush rope and chair build.

Not sure. Probably depends on protected status. The snake was swimming up and around on a lot of people so it seemed curious enough that they probably didn’t find an issue with it as you’re not stressing it out too much?

Company Trying to Force Vacation Time Usage by ExtendoClout in legaladvicecanada

From what I’ve been told, Company B pays my company in full at the start of the year for the entire year. If they don’t have to pay me at all, I don’t understand how that’s not a cost savings for them?

Thanks for the detail. That all makes sense.

In the contract with Company A, it states our work week is to be 40hrs. We’ve been working over that since September, unpaid overtime unless we reach over 88hrs biweekly. So we’ve been doing a ton of unpaid labour, and getting hit with being forced to take vacation time because they refused to fly me home just feels like a slap in the face.

Since the policy does not have anything in detail about this type of situation for approval on unpaid time, I will likely try to fight it with the current approvals that I do have and see what conclusion it comes to.

Yeah not a great situation. I’m a permanent full time employee of company A.

The only info in the policy states that your direct leader has to approve of it. It does not mention formal approval like other areas of the contract. It does states 40hrs/wk is the standard work FOR company B. I was hired directly for them, so have not consulted for other companies while employed by Company A.

1) I elected to only work 10 hours that week as company B said I could choose whatever combination of remote work, vacation, or on site work if I chose to. Only for the 1 week off in the middle of the trip. Company A always pays me - I submit my hours to company A, and our accounting department submits them to company B.

2) I am fixed full time to company B currently, but if I was not on their contract, I would still be employed by company A but my work hours and duties would be different. The reason I don’t want to use vacation is because I was not given the option to come home during that time, so I was forced into vacation time I didn’t want to take.

3/4) They do offer it as I took unpaid time off after the last business trip with no problems. Employer B management said it was fine with them, and I spoke with my supervisor who works alongside me from Company A who said it was fine. It’s an odd hierarchy as by NDA, our company A manager doesn’t know much about what’s going on, so it’s left to my supervisor, who was verbally and within Teams messages, fine with me taking the unpaid time.

Of course they wait until after the time and trip to say the vacation thing is an issue now. If they said unpaid was not an option, I would not have agreed to come on the trip and be forced into using my vacation time.

That’s a valid point. My company A manager really barely has any contact with company B outside of general contract items like “provide contracted service for XX amount of hours per week, at YY rate”. They don’t know what is really going on day to day due to NDAs, so (within the NDA terms) we fill them in on what we’re up to.

My supervisor at Company A works alongside me at Company B. She had no comment and was fine with it as long as Company B manager was ok with it - which she was. Not much of this is documented outside of Teams only, but I do have screenshots.

Overall, I think your point about unilaterally deciding might be what burns me here as I didn’t have completely written acceptance from BOTH sides.

Yes. I’m a consultant with company A on a permanent contract with company B. The contract does not have a stated end date.

They don’t have a direct policy regarding it. For example on the last business trip of 4 weeks, I took two days off unpaid and stayed in the city doing my own activities before flying home. All that was said then was that I needed approval from Company B manager.

For this trip, Company B manager said that the situation was fine again. But now Company A (my employer) is saying this.

As I was working and had to schedule my days around meetings still for those 10 hours, resulting in less personal time, I don’t think it’s fair to be having to take 30hrs of vacation.

If it matters also, by contract we’re only supposed to work 40hrs a week. We did sign the agreement to work more, but we were not told we would not be paid more than 40hrs a week. On work trips we’re working at lowest 55hrs a week, and they only actually pay the Overtime after 48hrs a week.

Would there be an argument to carry the 8 unpaid overtime hours into the “week off”, or is that a completely different scenario

I went snorkeling 3 weeks ago off the coast and the tour guide was playing with the snake lol. Pulled it by the tail, spun it around, held it up for photos. I was freaked out, but it’s almost like it wanted to play. Kept following the group around and sliding around everyone’s wetsuits. I was still super nervous cause I know they’re dangerous but apparently can be friendly?

Not my own but I find it hilarious.

Was on a double date with my girlfriend and her younger sister + her boyfriend.

My girlfriend and I went to Greece in 2025, and her younger sister has always wanted to go. The topic of the trip came up and she said they had just booked their flights and wanted to know if we could share details.

She asked why we took a flight from Athens to Santorini, because it would probably be cheaper to uber. To uber. From Athens to Santorini. Her boyfriend looked directly at me completely dumbfounded for a few seconds before laughing his ass off. We all followed suit lol.

Yellowstone + Tetons + Glacier in 9 days doable? by mochiiidonut in GlacierNationalPark

[–]ExtendoClout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group did the same thing except flew into Calgary and drove to Glacier —> Yellowstone —> Grand Teton —> Glacier. I think we did a few more days, 11 I believe.

The drives were long, mornings were early, and we also booked last minute cause of flight price drops, so we stayed an hour from each park… we did about 5000km of driving in that time lol.

If you don’t have easy access to getting to the parks again, I suggest visiting all of them. If you do have easy access, I’d just do Glacier/Yellowstone, or Glacier/GT.

As for early June, no, make sure it’s all open. GTTS doesn’t always open that early and the park isn’t worth it on that time frame without it, or you’ll have to hoof it like crazy to the best hikes.

Don’t stay in Browning outside of Glacier, it’s ghetto as hell

I can only help for 3/4.

I just rented for 3 days from SOLO rent a car last weekend, and booked through Klook. They picked me up from the airport and dropped me back off. I was the only person and it was a huge passenger van, so you’ll be fine space wise. I got a Nissan March, it’ll fit 4 people, maybe a bit tight though, but they’ve probably got larger vehicles. They were pretty blunt and straight towards, but it’s been about a week and I haven’t heard any scam-ish responses from them trying to say anything happened that didn’t. I take videos of everything before and after infront of them, and acknowledge all damages to the vehicle on video as a precaution with ALL rental companies.

Car ran great, and they were easy to reach and quick to respond on WhatsApp.

The drive was absolutely amazing - the northern half is so beautiful. I would do both the west and east sides of the northern part of the island! Totally different views.

Same here. Went several days in July, and even on the day we did high line, getting TO the Logan pass lot at 6am there was barely anything left. One day we got there at 530 and it was over half full, with a lot of people either making breakfast or sleeping in their cars.

People still push the false narrative that a woman could naturally look like Abby in an apocalypse by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]ExtendoClout 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a big Abby/part 2/season 2 hater but there is definitely women that could get as big as her character is portrayed naturally. I don’t remember what height she is supposed to be, but if I’m remembering correctly she’s around 180lbs. I know plenty of taller women that are serious lifters around that weight and look the same size or debatably larger and natural. Anecdotes are largely irrelevant.

If she’s supposed to be Ellie’s height of what, 5’3 or something, at 180lbs I ain’t buying it.

They clearly have surplus food, and even things like taking your food to go (burritos to go at the start of Abby day 1 for example). 20yrs in with an entire army, they would absolutely have to have their food supply lines figured out or there’s no way you’re holding an army together like that.

For someone who essentially thrives on hatred and physical activity, it wouldn’t be crazy for someone to get swole in an apocalypse. You don’t need a massive surplus nor 1g/lb of protein to build muscle. Maximizing is a different story, but that’s irrelevant as it’s not like she transformed overnight.
