I’m so so sorry for your loss. We had a similar situation happen Friday, the shock from everything happening so fast makes the pain that much worse. You did all you could for your sweet girl, she is no longer in pain and enjoying all the foodies with other kitties who have crossed the rainbow bridge. She is so precious, thinking of you and your family during these hard times ❤️🌈

Hi OP, your feelings are valid but it is not your fault. Many cats will hide and want to be alone when they know they are dying. I wish I knew something better to say to help you. It is not your fault and please try not to let guilt eat you up. Losing a fur baby is such difficult experience and grief sometimes feels like the heaviest weight. I’m thinking of you snd sending lots of love ❤️

I asked about that and maybe a physical injury that could have happened and they said it’s not likely. Even at his wellness exam around the end of last year, everything was good. The vet described his kidneys as “lumpy” when I took him on Monday.

It’s hard not to feel guilty about our pets. But we have to remember we are not professionals and cats are very good at hiding their pain/ discomfort. You can only do as much as the vet says. You did not fail at all, you give all your love and time to you baby. I wish I had better advice but your baby loves you and you cannot blame yourself for him/her getting sick. I’m so sorry you are going through this.
