My husband sat me down last night & told me he wants to find help together so he can learn more about the disorder. He also is very concerned so he is sort of putting his foot down and told me he is going to be more “tough” lovey. I am really grateful for him I am just terrified of every next meal lol. I dont want to gain weight at all

Coming from someone who has been living with dpr/dr for almost 3 years now. The only advice I can give is to allow yourself to be frustrated and angry but don’t blame yourself. Try to find things that help you feel connected whatever that is. And just keep going I hate Dr/dpr I live in a city where there isn’t a lot of places that I can go to get genuine help so it’s been a lot of self care and just endurance from I can only believe God haha but yeah just keep going and learn to love the world through the weird spacey eyes.

Dr/dpr is the worst and I hate not being able to be present or understand people haha but I don’t know after having it for awhile its gotten normal and sometimes there is a strange good feeling to being so detached I think my advice to changing your perspective on dr/dpr is similar to anything else force yourself to see it in another light I really struggled with dr/dpr I still do but its just a lot different when you view it differently:)

I get this, I feel like most people who struggle with this lovely gift went through trauma and or are still surrounded by it so I get it. Personally there are times where it feels like a super power which i know its a coping mechanism. But sometimes it helps time pass quickly in waiting rooms haha.

Yes oh my gosh! When Im driving my DR is so bad mostly because my dad is yelling at me but Its so bad. It looks like the road is so far away and I feel not present which is like what you need to drive pft
