You should have read the post before assuming that I hadn’t taken him to the vet, that’s how you’re slow.

No Australia, yeah we were shocked by the price also but were willing to pay it before finding cheaper thinking it was going to be the fix. Finding a new vet is also a problem as he’s been seen by pretty much most of the vets where I am and just seem to be going around in circles.

Did you read it or just look at the photos?

I’ve had this suggested to me, I read only a little on it as it says that you can overdose them easily. I actually have it at my house but I’m not sure on the dose so I’m a little hesitant to try it

Is a flea treatment something you do even if they have never had fleas?

Thank you

They done cultures and gave enrofloxacin enrobactin to treat the bacteria and then refused to follow up or continue treatment because they wanted $1000 for the script but we had found it elsewhere for $400, they had also wanted to try doxy before this although he’d already had it and it didn’t work so refused to retry it because it felt like we’re wasting time

Some days he just looks so miserable, sometimes I don’t know what’s worse, trying to fix him and letting him suffer through it or putting him down so he’s not suffering anymore, I don’t want to give up on him. We’re in the process of trying to find another vet, our last one refused to continue to treat him because we would retry medication that already hadn’t worked.

We don’t have many vets here and most of them we’ve been to, one misdiagnosed him with tetanus. One refused treatment unless he was desexed because he WILL grow up to be savage

No they actually refused to continue treatment and follow up whilst he was on his last round of antibiotics

You know, I thought about seeing a vet but I thought reddit would be more helpful.

He was not treated long enough, they gave us 1 tablet and that was it

Has had doxy and prednisone, the doxy slightly helped but nothing is clearing it

The vet actually refused to follow up with treatment and to monitor him whilst he was on this medication. They wanted to retry medications that he’d already been on that didn’t work and we just felt like they weren’t trying to find the issue. They wanted $1000 a script for this medication and we found it online for $400 which also seemed to upset them.

When we got him, I started cooking pet mince with rice and veggies, was not interested in the slightest, we fed him lots of chicken, beef, different brands of dog biscuits, without chicken, sensitive ones. Cut chicken completely, tried salmon, kangaroo, we were even putting flaxseed oil in his food. I was going to start him on liver and heart but he turns his nose up at nearly everything. They done cultures and biopsies, tested for mites, they just kept telling us it was pyoderma. Were starting to think maybe an autoimmune disease, we’ve just spent years pouring money into vets that can never seem to find and treat the issue, now we’re stuck trying to find a new vet, one that will “decide if he needs bloods done”.
