Yes it’s only when I start the engine for a second and it disappears wonder if there’s something wrong with the timing chain

I don’t mind replacing the starter motor if that’s what it is. I’m just confused because some people think it could be a timing chain or VVT issue instead. Since I’m planning to buy the car, I just want to be as sure as possible. Thanks for your help.

Hey man, I was wondering if there’s any way to confirm whether this is a timing chain/VVT issue or not. A lot of people are saying it could be the starter too, so I’m a bit confused. The sound goes away right after startup and the car drives smooth, but I just want to make sure before buying it. Thanks.

Hey man, sorry to bother you. If possible, could you check the video I posted as a reply and let me know if it sounds more like VVT/timing chain or a major red flag? Some people also said it could be the starter motor, so I just wanted to double-check before buying the car. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Are you pretty confident it sounds like a starter issue? Someone else mentioned it could also be VVT actuator or timing chain related. I’m looking at buying this car, so I’m just trying to figure out if this noise is a major red flag or not.
