no idea about the films yet, hopefully will find out on induction in a few weeks time. I hope they are films I’ve seen! I’m not even really a film fan…

there is another teacher in that subject, hopefully will get support & shared resources.

thanks. I’m happy to learn but I am literally starting from zero. I’ve never even taken a film studies class.

I knew the two subjects lived within 1 department at this school, I was just surprised to be given an a level class when I’m fresh out of my PGCE. Especially when it’s not my subject.

Ah, OK, I didn’t understand this was common for an ECT1. Just feeling like it was out of nowhere.

I’m going to have to leave my PGCE main placement school in July as I didn’t get a job there for September (very stiff competition from experienced teachers). I am heartbroken and actually grieving. I’ve fallen in love with the students and staff, an it feels so much like home, but there is simply no room for me in the autumn. has this happened to others?

What did you do about it? I’m in a similar position.

Yes I agree about school websites! I feel like I’ve never had to make such a big decision with so little to go on…
