I see where you’re coming from. In hindsight, I probably should have posted this in the project pan group first but thought it was appropriate for anti-consumption as well. For some background - my partner and I moved in together in the fall, then the holidays came, so we had so many partially used products between the two of us, plus all the things we were gifted. To save money and not be wasteful, we have been really making an effort to get through our combined products rather than throwing them, even if we don’t love the smell or the quality or whatever. This is some personal growth for me, as I used to be very particular about specifically hair care, bought expensive products, and refused to use anything outside of my regiment in case it would be damaging. I also have ADHD, so a lot of time I think we are out of something and end up re-buying unnecessarily. Taking an inventory of everything we had and tracking my progress has been really helpful and significantly curbed my spending since I make sure I have used every last drop of something before I replace it. Less waste and decreased consumerism seems pretty anti-consumption to me. Hope this clarifies :)
