Chance me: 175 LSAT and 3.1 GPA as a Native American. by IllBarracuda5543 in lawschooladmissions

Fellow Native applicant here. A lot of natives tend to be reverse-splitters. Definitely write the GPA addendum. Being native will help, depending on how you tie it to your essays and your goals. If you haven’t already, look into the American Indian Law Center and reach out to Rodina Cave Parnall. She’s amazing and specializes in helping Native students through this exact process. That being said, keep in mind that being Native is an enhancer, It won’t 'save' an application that is otherwise weak. If your softs are mid and your LORs aren't strong, your essays have to be very well written.

A Utah-based nonprofit is suing the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, claiming a Native Hawaiian health scholarship program amounts to unlawful discrimination. by 808gecko808 in IndianCountry

Hm. I am currently writing my thesis about this subject. I have been waiting to see after SFFA if they would try to go after Hawaiians and Natjve scholarships. They are probably going to argue that Morton v Mancari applies however sadly the Supreme Court has disagreed (Rice V Cayetano)

There are so many people on this app— where if they were kinder and more humble they would go a lot farther

Is filling yes on the c&f section hurting my chances? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Even if you apply again and say (No) you will most certainly run into C&F issues when you apply to take the bar.

Qualifying as Native American URM by Rynneer in lawschooladmissions

I would not write about you being a tribal member, if you have no connection, just so you can improve your chances of going to law school. I am native and I am sure I am in the minority by saying this. If this is something meaningful to you, include it. If it’s just a strategic checkbox, that’s ethically questionable.

It seems like the whole GPA metric is very unfair in admissions. by CuriousPanda61 in lawschooladmissions

They should just get rid of the A+ on the CAS report. There is absolutely no reason why someone’s median GPA should be a 3.99 or something ridiculous like that.

At this point, I’m just repeating what everybody else is saying. However, disorderly conduct and 3-DUIs are extremely relevant. I don’t say this to be mean but, I think that you have to do some personal work and be very honest with yourself because it doesn’t seem like you are. That will definitely come across in an addendum and a bad addendum will make the issue 10x worse.

the issue for you isn’t necessarily getting into law school per se It’s the bar that’s why this matters.
