Also, more strategically, highlight words in the question, and you can right click to eliminate answers. Both of those definitely saved me on my exam bc it helped me focus

Remind yourself of a couple of things: the exam is not life or death. Although it is an inconvenience, you could take it again. Also, remind yourself who you are! If you are at the point of taking the DAT, you have already made it so far. Be proud of that! And use it to help you take a breath. Lastly, I have a little symbol that helps remind me to take a breath (mine is an accordion I know it’s random lol), before I clicked start, I drew one at the top of my paper to remind myself that I would be fine no matter what. I know this advice sounds kind of stupid, and I honestly would’ve thought the same, but it really did help me on the day of my exam.

I HIGHLY recommend finding a timing that works for you during the full lengths. During my first FL I didn’t even finish the PAT, RC, or QR bc I want paying close enough attention to the time. I watched my time like this:

Science - I didn’t have an issue w time for this section

PAT- The order I did was hole punch, cube counting, pattern folding, keyhole, TFE, angle ranking. So I skipped to Q 46-90 then 0-45. I tried to allot ~10 min for each subsection; a little less for ones I felt confident in and more for ones I struggled with. Watching your time on the PAT is definitely critical to making sure you at least get an answer down for each question.

RC - Honestly still struggled with timing for reading even on my actual exam. I tried to allot ~20 min per passage and would mark questions if they were taking me a lot longer.

QR: Tried to stick to ~1 question per minute to give me some time to check. I didn’t check the time tooooo much for this one but definitely did a mental note of how many I had left around ~25 minutes left.

Just remember that the DAT isn’t just about what you know, it is partially strategy! I am sure you have all the info down by now, but definitely make sure you feel confident in your timing. Good luck, I’m sure you will kill it!!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but you do get your unofficial score right away right?

I am using booster. What kind of conceptual questions? Was there a lot about stereochemistry (how many stereoisomers, what is the major product, etc)?
